This is a screenplay in the losest sense of the word, I began to write it in this way and it is continuing, in this way. It is about a character that I created a while back. He is /was God's first creation. He is amazingly powerful, but extremly layed back. In other and future stories that I have written and will write for him I will work in alot of mythologies, Christian, Hindu, Norse, Greek, and others along with folklore. I hope you enjoy the story, and thanks for visiting.

Atlantis Lost

By Jason Beirens

Scene: Under water, a diver wipes away some dirt with dialect is revealed. Close up of divers eyes, pull back as the eyes widen. Scene: A few months later temples and broken spires of buildings. Statues scattered, and the whole place filled with divers. his hand. Words in an ancient Cut to black, hear a sliding noise, and a loud thud as a tomb opens.

Cut to Scene: Joshua’s Bar (smoky and dimly lit) Two people sitting at the Bar talking, we pick up the conversation.

-Mister Bellows: I don’t know what you are taking about.

-Scholar: You know exactly what I am talking about. You were on Atlantis when it was destroyed. What happened, and why?
-Mister Bellows: You aren’t going to let this go, are you?
-Scholar: I will not. The findings of Atlantis had your name written everywhere. In the article for US!! you stated briefly that you were Gods first creation. You are then certainly old enough to have been there. And with the writings we found at the unearthing of Atlantis, it would seem you were a king of the city.

-Mister Bellows: (sighs and takes a sip from his drink) Firstly(clears his throat) I was not a king, and secondly, Atlantis was not only a city, it was a country.

-Scholar: What were you then. You must have been important?

-Mister Bellows: I was the doom. The death of the land.

-Scholar: What we have been able to translate, you were the first citizen. The bringer of life. You made it paradise.

-Mister Bellows: I was also the destroyer of paradise.

-Scholar: Please, tell me how.

-Miter Bellows: No, I won’t , the memories I have of Atlantis are my own, not to be shared, with more mindless twits in a magazine.

-Scholar: (laughs nervously and grabs at his coat pocket) How did you know?

-Mister Bellows: (finishes his drink and gets up) I know the type.

-Scholar: Can you tell us a little about the pronunciation, or dialect of Atlantis to help us, in the scientific and communications industry, out?

-Mister Bellows: (Gives the scholar a dirty look) Keat-

-Scholar: What did that mean? -Mister Bellows: Well, let’s just say it not a nice word.(Leaves the bar) (Scholar left sitting at the bar, sulking)

(Bellows walks down the street to an old brownstone house. His hand dives in his pocket in search of his keys. He takes them out and unlocks his door. A large hairy man jumps out from behind a group of trash cans)

-Brute: Give me all your money or I’ll kill ya’

-Mister Bellows: Don’t be absurd.

-Brute: C’mon, give me the money.

-Mister Bellows: I don’t have any on me, and if I did I wouldn’t give it to you.

-Brute: (looking a bit confused) Then I’ll jus’ kill ya’.(smiling)

-Mister Bellows: You pose no threat to me. Now go if you know whats good for you.(points out into the night)

(Brute just stands in front of Mister Bellows. Looks over at a dark alley, smiles and jumps at Mister Bellows)

-Mister Bellows: Come now, be off with you.

(Mister Bellows points at Brute, and Brute flies over the brownstone and to the police station a few blocks away)

-Mister Bellows: (whispers) Confess your crimes. Cut to police station

(Brute sitting at a desk with a cop at the other side. Talking, nothing is heard)

Cut back to Mister Bellows entering his brownstone. (Mister Bellows walks to a chair in front of a large hearth and fire place. It is decorated in fine baroque styling and has old Victorian fairy pictures decorating the mantle. Mister Bellows sighs and falls asleep) Fade Out

Cut to Atlantis (Large spires of buildings, and flying machines looking a lot like Da Vinci’s studies for flying machines, circle and glide from spire to spire. People talking and walking the streets of the city. The dress of the people is simple, yet elegant, and they walk the streets of the city smiling. Large oxen pull wagons, and cars like large nuematic toys glide silently down the streets.)

Cut to close up of Mister Bellows, looking a little younger then he does in modern times. (Bellows walks through a large decorated door. Smiles at the camera, swing around and see a young beautiful woman, about twenty two years of age)

-Mister Bellows: Hello Medea

-Medea: Hello, my love.

-Mister Bellows: How is business today?

-Medea: Same as always quiet and steady. The patrons read at the tables and then decide if they will buy the book or not. The graphic books are the best selling as always.

-Mister Bellows: I understand why, you can never get enough of good art. (Mister Bellows and Medea kiss and look down at Medeas stomach.)

-Medea: The child will be here at any time.(she winchs and smiles) The baby wants out, it is kicking the walls of it’s jail cell (They both smile, and then look up at each other and continue to smile)

-Patron: (from off camera) I would like to buy this. (Smiles stop, Medea turns to customer)

-Medea: Of course(Looks at the book) That will be seven gold coins please. (The patron digs into sack, and brings out seven gold coins and hands them to Medea.)

-Medea: Thank you. (The patron smiles and leaves the shop. We hear the door shut behind him.) (Bellows smiles at Medea)

-Mister Bellows: So do you want to go to lunch?

-Medea: I would greatly enjoy that. Anywhere special?

-Mister Bellows: I have heard of a knew eatery a few shops away. It is supposed to have a great fish variety, and some mammal dishes.

-Medea: Oh, I’ve heard of them, Casius’. The rabbit is supposed to be superb. (They walk out of the shop and put a closed sign up)

Cut to (eatery, decorated with fish and other assorted sea life in fresco paintings and relief sculptures. The eatery is full and loud. Pan down of the layout of the eatery waiters in black outfits (similar to the other outfits of the people) carry dishes of food, people being seated, and leaving. Pan down and find Mister Bellows and Medea sitting in a corner, lit by soft glowing candles.) (Close up of Medea)

-Medea: Cheers (raises her glass, it is half full of a red berry juice of the time)

-Mister Bellows (He raises his glass) Cheers ( A waiter approaches the table. He clears his throat)

-Waiter/Jonth: Are you ready to order?

-Mister Bellows: Yes, Jonth. I will have the ribie steak of mammoth.

-Jonth: And for the lady?

-Medea: I think I will have some swordfish.

-Jonth: Excellent choices. Your food will be out shortly. (A few moments pass. The happy couple talks, and laughs. Camera pulls up and looks toward the kitchen doors. The waiter brings them their food. Camera pulls down to Mister Bellows and Medea. The waiter puts the food on the table.)

-Medea: (turns to Jonth) Thank you so...(the table moves) Oh dear (the table jiggles again)

-Mister Bellows: What is it? Is it the baby?

-Medea: I believe so.

-Mister Bellows: (turns to Jonth) Don’t just stand there, Jonth get help.

-Jonth: (Screams) Is their a physician in the eatery. Medea Bellows is about to give birth to their first child. Fade out Cut to Mister Bellows in modern times

-Mister Bellows: (thought, in his mind/voice over) I hate memories of Atlantis, why do I torture myself with them. Every memory leads me to those few hurtful moments. Dickens had it right, not for France but for Atlantis, ‘they were the best of times and the worst of times.’ Paradise on earth and then paradise lost. (a tear rolls down Mister Bellows cheek)

-Mister Bellows: (takes the tear from his face with a soft finger, letting the moisture sit on his forefinger.) I have lived a billion billion life times, but I would give them all up to relive Atlantis, to set it right. (Mister Bellows gets up quietly and walks to a door way on the other side of the room. He slowly turns the ornate handle, and enters. The room is nothing but light, heavenly music{quite literally} and beings of light flashing around the unconfined span of heaven. Mister Bellows slowly walks towards the only other door in heaven. He stops in front of it and knocks ever so softly.

-A voice like song: Who is it?

-Mister Bellows: It is me.

-A voice like song: Hello Mister Bellows, welcome back. You are expected.

-Mister Bellows: I know. (Mister Bellows follows the long hallway, as he has a billion times before. The hallway is weaved light, brighter than anything man-made and yet at the end of the hallway the light is brighter. It is love personified, given life, free will to roam where it will. Mister Bellows reaches the end of the endless hallway, and smiles a tear filled smile.) (Keep camera on Mister Bellows)

-God: Enter my friend.

-Mister Bellows: (pulls out a seat of pure light) May I?

-God: Of course.

-Mister Bellows: I need to talk.

-God: Where are your wings Bellows?

-Mister Bellows: I have put them away for a time. Please listen.

-God: I know, you miss Atlantis. It is best if you talk to your friend from your time there.

-Mister Bellows: I can’t face him. I killed him.

-God: You did no such thing. It was not your fault, you know that, what more I know it. You have to talk to him, he also needs a friend.

-Mister Bellows: (sighs) Where is he?

-God: He is right here. Camera swings around to see God (Who looks like George Burns, and a medium sized African American man)

-Mister Bellows: Hello Casius. It has been a while Will you ever forgive me (Bellows face to the ground)

-Casius: Bellows my friend, there is nothing to forgive. You know it was my own fault for trying to stop him by myself, you were always the better fighter.

-Mister Bellows: I am so sorry, so sorry (weeping)

Cut to Atlantis (At the residence of Mister Bellows, A great deal like his current residence in most every way except no fairy pictures. Bellows and Casius are sitting near the hearth on floor pillows.)

-Mister Bellows: If it’s a boy. I will name him after you Casius, you are his pseudo uncle after all. He will be strong and happy like you and me.

-Casius: I am greatly honored that you, who was the founder of this land would grant me such a boon as that. I am grateful to call you friend.

-Mister Bellows: I am honored to call you my friend.

-Casius: (happily flustered) You are the Bishop of all Atlantis, and you are honored by me. I dare say, even if I lived to be as old as you, you would make no sense. (puts his arm on Bellows shoulder) Thank you, friend. (screaming is heard from far off.)

-Casius: (looking eager and suprised) It is coming from the docks.

-Mister Bellows: Lets go.

Cut to the pair of friends running They reach the docks of Atlantis, and see a giant serpent attacking ships. People running and screaming, carrying their children and possessions. A few men with harpoons are trying to break the tough scallily hide of the beast. The serpent is twenty feet high and is roaring like a lion. Mister Bellows and Casius charge at the levitation carrying harpoons. Mister Bellows jump up at the creatures head, and with the harpoon jabs the dull mettle into one of the creatures eyes. It yelps like a trapped puppy, and Casius sprouts wings and tears into the hide of the beast.)

-Casius: Return to Lilith and Morningstar foul demon. (With one flip of the beasts head Casius was trapped in the jaws of the demon. Not only was Casius screaming in pain, but so was Bellows)

Cut to Heaven

-Mister Bellows: (downward shot) The sound of an angels scream, is at once beautiful, as are all sounds made by your kind, and terrible, it feels as if the skin would peel away from your bones. I still awake some nights to your scream echoing through my nightmares.(tears roll down his face)

-Casius: (hugs him) It’s okay. I still dream of that day. To me it was yesterday, the time in heaven moves differently.

-Mister Bellows: (sniffs) I know that. I am older than you. I have spent more time here also. I was here when it was only an idea. When heaven was a concept by God. I watched as the cosmic dust formed into the molten world that earth once was and still is in the core. (sighs) Do you hear it, Casius?

-Casius: Hear what, my friend?

-Mister Bellows: The cherubs singing. (A song like a childs choir, begins to echo through the hallways of heaven.)

-Mister Bellows: I miss the sounds of heaven. Only when I am here, though. When I am away, adventuring, and exploring, getting to know the universe that I helped to create, I am always to busy to think of heaven, and all it’s wonders. It is wonderful here, I wish I could stay here all the time.

-Casius: You can. There is enough adventure here for you.

-Mister Bellows: (wipes the tears from his face) You’ve gone, and made me forget of my sorrows. (they both laugh) But no I cannot, the cosmos and the worlds need me, as much as I need them. I will return soon, in your heavenly terms, in a blink of an eye.

-Casius: I will miss you my friend, and keep your word, I will wait. (Mister Bellows gets up and walks down the heavenly hallway. He reaches one of heavens doors, opens it, and moves onto the second door)

Cut to Mister Bellows brownstone (A fairy greets him)

-Fairy/Lorna: Bellows, there is trouble at the docks.

-Mister Bellows: What kind of trouble, Lorna?

-Lorna: I think it is one of your relatives from Atlantis.

-Mister Bellows: (a look of horror on his face) No, it can’t be. (Mister Bellows goes running out of his front door and heads down to the docks, about ten blocks away.) (It is dusk)

-Mister Bellows (thought/ voice over) The discovery and study of Atlantis must have freed him. They have no idea what they have done.

Cut to scene at the docks people running, and screaming, boats over turned and debris falling and flying around. A large man-like beast turns to see Mister Bellows. A smile on large cracked lips.

-Creature: (a deep and fearless voice) Bein, (the creature turns his head) Hello, Uncle.

-Mister Bellows What are you doing here?

-Creature: I was freed from my prison. Unsuspecting humans.

-Mister Bellows Do not forget that you are human also.

-Creature: Fool, I am far from human.(He pauses) Pappy.(he says this last word with a heavy amount of sarcasm and hatred.)

-Mister Bellows: No! You only think you are. You have to much in common with the race that you deem below you to not be one of them. You may look different, and be stronger and larger, but you have their, our hubris.

-Creature: Fool. It is not hubris. I am a god. (The creature then picks up a small fishing boat and throws it at Bellows. It slams into him and throws Mister Bellows into a building. The creature laughs and leaves, diving back into the oceans depths.)

Close up on Mister Bellows’ face. He is cut and bruised.

Pull out, Bellows pushes the boat away from him. It falls to the ground and shatters the hull. Mister Bellows sits against the shattered brick wall.

-Mister Bellows: What have they done? What have WE done? (Bellows walks home slowly and quietly. His bruises healed and his cuts disappearing. He passes by fire trucks and ambulances racing down the street to the docks. He never turns his head.)

Close up His eyes a flame with anger and sorrow. Pull up the lights of the city are bright as they start to turn on for the night.

A forced smile. He nods to the waiter who in turn leaves the table, and his food. Bellows slowly eats. We pull up and get farther away. A flock of geese fly in front of the camera Scene cuts to Bellows sitting in a book store reading a book on art history. He looks sullen. Cut to bellows walking into his front door, he is met by Lorna. Who is full size and dressed casually. She is a foot shorter then Bellows.

-Lorna You are in high spirits again. I am glad to see it.

-Mister Bellows: I am.

-Lorna: What changed you?

-Mister Bellows: People.

-Lorna What about your relitive. (she says this as she bites her lip. relizising shes hit a nerve)

-Mister Bellows (Smiling) Don’t worry about it. When next he comes I will be ready.

-God: So what do you think of the plan for earth.

-Mister Bellows I don’t know making such a large part solid. It will get in the way of movement.

-God Well the inhabitants won’t have wings. They will be fallible and dirty and rise from that. They will be of the dirt and of the earth.

-Mister bellows You aren’t giving them flight, that is cruel.

-God It is not. They will figure it out eventually.

-Mister Bellows Well it ought to be interesting if nothing else.

-God It will be wonderous. They will have the power to give life. They will also have the power to take it.

-Medea Something wrong. Somethings wrong.

-Mister Bellows It’ll be okay. It will I promise. (he bites his lip, he knows he is lying) She screams and pushes.

-Medea The baby is out. Why isn’t it crying?
