Goku is the main chracter in DBZ. He is also one of the strongest. He loves fighting and dies many times because of this. He was the first one to reach super sayiin level during the Freeza saga. I think he has to much mercy for his enemys though which is one of his weaknesses. He can reach super sayiin level four but rarely does this.
Trunks is Vegeta and Bulmas son. He comes back from the future after the Freeza saga to warn the Z team about the androids. He must have a hard life because his dad keeps dieing on him. He can reach super sayiin level 2.
Vegita is Trunks dad and Bulmas lover. He is a rather cold hearted person that is evil in the beginning of the series but after the Freeza saga he slowly loses his evilness and becomes allies with Goku and the others. He can reach super sayiin level 4. His craving for power never ends but after being defeated by cell he finally accepted that he was not the strongest fight and never would be. *Note he can only reach super sayiin level 4 with a device Bulma devises.
Cell is a creation of Dr.Gero. He was created from the cells of all the greatest fighters such as Goku, Vegita, and Piccolo. To reach his perfect form he must absorb andriods 18 and 19. When he finds out they were destroyed by the sayiins he steals Trunks time machine and goes back in time and absorbs them. When he reahces his perfect form he pisses of Gohan enough to trigger Gohans hidden power enabling Gohan to transform into level 2 super sayiin there for opening a whole case of whoopass on Cell.
This is Gohan. He is Gokus son. He is a great fighter and at some points is stronger than his father. He cant utilize this strength though because he doesnt have the love for fighting that Goku does. He was also the first person to reach super sayiin level 2 during the cell saga. He can reach super sayiin level 2.
Gogeta is the combination of Vegeta and Goku using the Namekian fusion dance. This fusion lasts for 30 minutes at a time and then they seperate. Gogeta can reach super sayiin level 4 but only does so in a few DBGT episodes.
Buu starts off as a fat pink guy that Mr.Satan takes in. He grows to like Mr.Satan. The skinny,mean,powerul Buu appears when he sees Mr.Satan and his dog killed. The skinny one pops out and eats the fat one which gives him enormousl powerful. Gotenks ends up killing him with the help of the other warriors.
Piccolo is like a super namek. He is a brave green warrior who by the way is very strong. At the start of the sayiin saga Piccolo was an evil fighter but when he started training Gohan in the desert he realized evilness isnt all its cut out to be. Throughout the series he loses his evil tone and learns to relax and enjoy life. His death during the sayiin saga was one of the most emotional ones in the series. Piccolo is one of my favorite characters. (not to mention he has a cool voice)
Pan is Gohans daughter. She is the most powerful female character in the whole series. I still dont know much about Pan but I will let you know if I find out anymore.
Freeza is one of the main villians throughout the series. He has 4 forms each one more powerful than the last. Goku kills him on Namek right before the planet blows up and then Freezas brother Cooler comes back, picks up the pieces, and rebuilds him.(some body parts were unsalvageable and were replaced with cyborg parts)Freeza comes back in DBGT and is quickly sliced up by Trunks and Co. Freeza is also seen in various episodes in DBGT when he comes out of hell with cell and all the other bad guys.
Brolli is the legendary super sayiin that comes along every 1000 years. He can go the equivelent of super sayiin level 4.(This form is techniqually called legendary sayiin form not super sayiin level 4) He appears in 2 movies.
Krillin is an earthling that is Gokus best friend. The weird thing about Krillin is he has no nose and instead has 6 holes on his forehead...hmmm rather strange. He is a good fighter and tries to help but he just doesnt have the strength to compete with the villians. He usually gets hurt in the first few minutes of the fight and just watches on the side...poor Krillin.
Brolly (or Brolli, not really sure) Is supposedly the legendary super sayain that comes along every 1000 years. When he was a baby he was in a crib next to Goku's crib. Goku cried all the time so it made Brolly hate him. Thats why Brolly goes after him in the movies. Brollys power can go the equivelent of super sayain 4 from what I have heard. Although it is called legendary super sayain not super sayain level 4 And people then ask me, how did they beat him then? Well it was like 6 on 1 so they were kind of at an advantage. Brollys master put a headband on Brolly that would enable his master to control Brollys anger. When Brolly saw Goku though this band just snapped and Brolly went berzerk. Eventually the z fighters kill Brolly in both movies but Brolly was one of the most powerful sayains that had ever lived.
Garlic Jr. is a little green guy from dragonball z. He wished for eternal life and got it. I am sure he regretted it later when he was put into the dead zone which is an eternity of darkness with no sound or anything. And thats where he had to live for the rest of eternity...poor garlic...HE'S A GREEN MIDGET FOR PETES SAKE! Sorry I have a special place in my heart for little green men...I have issues...
Zarbon is one of Freezas henchmen. He fights Vegeta and looses very painfully with a nice little hole through his stomach, oh wait it was a huge hole! Of course it was not shown on cartoon network...GRRGGH! Anyways he can transform into this ugly monster thing that is much more powerful. Even with this he still gets his a$$ kicked. I dont like blue guys...rrrrrghhh...*must destroy blue men* RRRR... I have issues..
Kami is the guardian of earth, at least until he fuses with Piccolo to fight the androids. He is a green namek. After he and Piccolo fuse then Dende replaces him. Hes GREEN! AAGUGHHH!!! Ok I have issues..green rules....
