MY HEDGEHOG ROOM

AND NOW ON TO MY HEDGIES AND THEIR CAGES! :)

Most of the cages I use are 30X30, but I do have two that are 24X30, and a couple very large sterilite containers for emergency housing.

This is my Miss Emma and her cage. You really can't tell by this photo but the front is decorated up like a country cottage :)

Here is Hannah and Millie's condo :)

Meet my very laid back 7+ year old Spicket and see her cage! Spicket was the very first hedgie to come into my life.

I use Sherry Arata's cage liners and or Vellux in all the cages. The liners are changed daily. Every hedgie has their own wheel, litter box, multiple toys, stuffed hedgie and a warm snuggly bed to sleep in. :)

I use the plastic domed pigloos for all my hedgies to sleep in, and each are filled with soft fleece blankets and a stuffed hedgie to snuggle up to.
In the winter, I have these nifty thick, warm ferret domes made of several layers of fleece which, as it happens, slip perfectly over the top of a pigloo and serve to keep it well insulated and nice and cozy for my hedgies.

For daily socializing, I have playpools set up: one for outdoors and one for indoors, where the hedgies get together and run about and interact with each other.

Wheels are scrubbed daily, and I keep a seperate scrub brush for each hedgehog's wheel, stored in individual mason jars underneath my kitchen sink so there is no risk of cross-contamination. Fresh bottled drinking water is provided, in bowls that are washed every day to prevent bacteria build-up.
