Sheriff Buford T. Justice of Montague County Texas. The only man to ever get close to Catching the Bandit. Along with his inept Son Junior, Buford Chased Bo and Cletus all over the South and Back.
Buford chased The Bandit when he was playing blocker for the Coors beer. His main reason for the Chase was that Bo picked up Carrie who was going to marry his son Junior. But it eventually got to an ego thing. He chased the Bandit till his car would not run anymore. In the second appearance of the Bandit he did the same thing, He chased him till his car would not run, then even after that he tried chasing the Bandit in a Bus.
Later on he meets Big and Little Enos, they bet him that he can't get from Miami to Texas in 48 hours with a Fish that Says "Enos Fish and Chips" the Mascot for their new Restraunt throughout the south. Little did Buford know that they were going to follow him the whole way and try to stop them. After they failed a few times they called Cletus and sent him in as the Bandit. With this fake Bandit Buford chased after him and forgot about the fish until he notice he wasn't going to make it. The Bandit gave him back the fish and Buford made it to Texas and Enos's ranch in time. He also got the Chance to catch the Bandit, but the Bandit looked at him and said "Buford, buddy, you were the best. I'm going to miss the chase." Then Buford remembered if he caught the Bandit he would have to retire and spend time with Junior, so he let the Bandit go and continued the Chase!
