History

January 10, 1995 - Stevie Richards, being victimized for months by Tommy Dreamer, announces to ECW announcer Joey Styles that he has looked in Dreamer's past and found a man who knows the workings of Dreamer's soul, a man with whom Richards can see a kinship with in his hatred for Dreamer. For months, Stevie Richards has been copying the varied gimmicks of Scott Levy, also known as johnny Polo and Scotty Flamingo. Styles asks if this would be the man formerly known as Johnny Polo, or Scotty Flamingo. Richards replied that the man who would come to his aid and continue his childhood rivalry with his former best friend, Tommy Dreamer, would be "the Raven." It was still the same man who had previously been Polo and Flamingo, only wilder and more feral. His past had made him an anti-social outcast, and when Raven needed Dreamer, Dreamer abandoned him. The Raven said he had left the WWF out of disgust and had a become a roadie for the grunge rock band Pearl Jam, but his hatred for Dreamer had made him take Richards under his wing to destroy Dreamer. January 17, 1995 - the very first Raven video promo. Raven is on a snow-covered hill, mixed in with a video montage of the Offspring video, "Come Out and Play." Raven is standing in front of a dead end sign and talks about what a tortured soul he is, and now Dreamer will pay for his pain, Then Raven utters for the first time, "Quote the Raven, nevermore." January 31, 1995 - the second Raven video promo to be aired in ECW. This time Raven is sitting in a classroom with a chalkboard that says "I HATE DREAMER" over and over again in the background. He is talking about some of the miseries of childhood where knowledge is supposed to help, but memories of school are scars that can't be hidden, cant be moved and are always there. Raven and Stevie Richards now began to haunt Tommy Dreamer and Raven beat him everytime they wrestled. However, Dreamer still remained a force in Extreme Championship Wrestling. March 1995 - At this time, Raven had begun to gather a group of followers in ECW, who saw Raven as some sort of leper messiah. Raven drew the outcasts of ECW to his side to help him in his war against Dreamer. This group eventually came to be known as "Raven's Nest." Raven was able to make those close to Dreamer turn against him. Other members of the Nest included at this time included Johnny Hotbody and Tony Stetson. March 6, 1995 - Dreamer does a video promo about his feud with Raven. He goes over the "history" of Raven and how as Johnny Polo, Raven sold out to the WWF and that staying with ECW enabled Tommy to go to Japan and do what he wants. Raven can't fool anyone in ECW - the fans know he sold out to the WWF back when and if the phone call comes for Dreamer to go up north, he'll hang up. March 28, 1995 - The Generation X Gauntlet match. Raven will be handcuffed along with his Nest, Stevie Richards, Tony Stetson, and Johnny Hotbody, to a steel pole. If Dreamer can beat Raven's Nest, he gets to fight Raven. Each member will be un-handcuffed one at a time to fight Dreamer. Tony Stetson goes first, Stetson gets the DDT and its one down - now its Johnny Hotbody in to face Dreamer. Dreamer makes quick work of Hot Body and now its Steve Richards turn to fight Dreamer, but he gets a fast start on Dreamer and they go outside the ring. Dreamer cracks a STOP sign over Stevie's head, then suplexes him and drags him back into the ring. Richards is set-up for the piledriver and he gets it. Here comes Terry Funk with a set of wire cutters out and he cut Raven's handcuffs off. Dreamer runs in to fight Raven and then Raven gets the DDT on Dreamer outside the ring and drags him back in the ring for a 3 count. Raven wins. April 4, 1995 - Tommy Dreamer cuts a promo on ECW television where he says that each member of the Nest he beat in the Gauntlet match symbolized a different aspect of Raven's personality. By beating Tony Stetson, he beat Scotty Flamingo. By beating Johnny Hotbody, he beat Scotty the Body, and by beating Stevie Richards, he beat Johnny Polo. But then Dreamer says Raven is hardcore now, so Dreamer is going to have to show him what extreme is. April 8, 1995 - Raven was about to unload another weapon in his arsenal against Dreamer. Stevie Richards told a story about his, Raven, snd Dreamer's experiences at summer camp many years ago. There, he along with Raven and Dreamer had been the best of friends along with a girl named Beulah McGillicutty. Stevie said that Raven had shunned her because she was nothing but a "fat piece of hell" at the time. Dreamer stood up to Raven for treating her like garbage and that had ruined their friendship and started their rivalry. However, Stevie Richards and Raven brought Beulah out to stand at their side and it was apparent that time had changed Raven's misconception of her as she was very attractive. Raven then announced that not only was Beulah part of the Nest, she was also his girlfriend. Beulah's conception of Dreamer had also changed as her newfound hatred of Dreamer drove her to aid Raven in any way she could. Also on this date, Stevie Richards gave Hotbody and Stetson the ultimatum of beating the Pitbulls, or else they'd be fired from the nest. Hotbody and Stetson win and the Pitbulls join Raven's Nest. Raven, Stevie Richards, and Tommy Dreamer have a 3 way dance on the show as well. Raven wins due to Beulah spraying Dreamer in the eyes with hairspray. Stevie hits on Beulah and is also sprayed in the eyes. April 25, 1995 - Stevie Richards vs. Mikey Whipwreck. Stevie loses, Raven tries to interfere, but Hack Meyers, the Shah, and Public Enemy all interfere in the match as well. Hostile City Showdown '95 - Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer. Raven DDT's Dreamer 3 times in a row in this match, but he still kicks out. Dreamer then DDT's Raven outside the ring, then DDT'S Richards, Beulah, and the official. Raven wins by DQ on Tommy Dreamer, Joey Styles lets us know that Dreamer was officially disqualified so he doesnt have a "real win" over Raven. May 2, 1995 - The Raven/Stevie Richards "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video debuts on ECW. It's mainly clips of Raven's and Dreamer's matches though. May 9, 1995 - Raven attacks Tommy Dreamer in a bar on ECW TV, Killian's Hard Rock Cafe. Raven then makes a promo where he has a bloody eye, telling Dreamer their feud isn't over. May 17, 1995 - Luna Vachon attacks Tommy Dreamer as he beats on Raven, Richards, and Beulah McGillicutty during a match from Tampa. Thus, Luna joins the Nest as Stevie's valet. May 30, 1995 - The war between Dreamer and Raven is back up and now its personal going back to their childhood, bringing in Beulah and now its Dreamer talking about how he hasn't gotten a clean pin on Raven. Rumors abounded that Luna Vachon and Raven were an item. Comments from Raven next about it, talking about the emotion and the act, emotion and response falls the Raven. Dreamer and Raven's history is intertwined. He'd sooner be crucified than spend another night with Luna. A video clip starts with Raven calling out Steve Richards who has some nasty scratches on his back which are accredited to Luna. June 14, 1995 - Pitbulls vs. Public Enemy for the ECW tag team titles in a double dog collar match. Pitbulls think they win, Raven interferes to beat on the PE. Dreamer comes in. It turns into Dreamer vs. Raven. Richards and Beulah attack Dreamer and Luna Vachon saves Dreamer and turns on Raven. June 20, 1995 - Interview with Tommy Dreamer and Luna on ECW. Stevie Richards shows up and brings Vampire Warrior (the WWF's Gangrel) with him. Joey Styles tells Tommy Dreamer about Vampire Warrior. Vampire Warrior is there to tell Tommy to get his hands off Luna and then those 2 go at it all over the ECW Arena. They then show comments about Vampire Warrior vs. Tommy Dreamer from Raven, Richards and Beulah. Stevie is sent by Raven to go get the Pit Bulls. Raven talks about how his Dogs of War (The Pitbulls) will beat Taz and 2 Cold Scorpio and how he will end his career if that doesnt happen, and if that's not enough, Luna Vachon, the woman for who PMS was named, will be pinned by a Penthouse Pet (Beulah)and the entire Vachon family will turn over in the graves that they should have been buried in years ago. A really creepy Raven segment to say the least. The main event is then Beulah McGillicutty vs. Luna Vachon in a steel cage. Luna vs. Beulah - Raven and Stevie Richards lead Beulah to face Luna Vachon. Stevie managed a win for Beulah with a chairshot to Luna's head. After the match, Raven DDT's and beats on Luna Vachon until a bloody Dreamer tries to make the save. Dreamer gets a Raven DDT for his troubles and a few broken fingers. Raven then crucifies Luna to the ring ropes with handcuffs and beats on her some more. Thus, the whole point of Raven bringing in Vampire Warrior was to keep Dreamer occupied while they took out Luna Vachon. June 30, 1995 - At this time, Raven and Stevie Richards tag-teamed to represent the Nest and were able to become the ECW World Tag Team Champions when they defeated Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge, The Public Enemy, in their home turf of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania at Hardcore Heaven 95. July 11, 1995 - The Pitbulls turn against Raven and Richards after they lose a match to the Dudley Boys. Pitbulls say Raven and Richards have titles that should be theirs. July 18, 1995 - At Heatwave '95, Raven has a cage match with Tommy Dreamer. At one point in the match, Dreamer handcuffs Raven crucifix-style to the cage and hits him with a steel chairshot so hard that the chair doubles around his head. This goes on to be known in ECW history as "The Chairshot heard 'Round the World." July 26, 1995 - Joey Styles comments about the new tag champs (Raven and Stevie Richards) and how Raven broke Dreamer's fingers and then to Richards "getting a girlfriend" (Francine), and how it heats up and then its a segment from the Gen X slacker tag team champions. They are in the ocean and Raven and Richards say there is no sanctuary for Dreamer. Richards says "I love the smell of fish in the morning" - then Beulah hits him. Stevie talks about his days in Florida Championship Wrestling and how Kevin Sullivan used to control guys down there. Stevie says his childhood was the best ever, until they got Luna in Florida Championship Wrestling. He says she was a stupid retard for being in Florida Championship Wrestling and ruined Stevie's childhood until New Wave music came along. Raven then says he feels Dreamer's pain and he feasts on it- it makes him better and he then says "the chairshot heard round the world" made Raven stronger. Raven says he's now like a god - there is no way to stop him and he is the most powerful force in Extreme Championship Wrestling. August 8, 1995 - Raven and Richards vs. The Pitbulls. Raven and Richards win due to an assist from the "hench wench" Beulah McGillicutty after she sprays the Pitbulls with hair spray so Raven can powerbomb them for the win. Tommy Dreamer and Luna Vachon run in and Beulah gets a piledriver for her trouble. August 15, 1995 - Joey Styles interviews the reigning tag team champs Raven and Stevie Richards. Of course with them is Beulah McGillicutty. Richards talks about all that is going on with the ECW nowadays. So much going on in the ECW Arena and in the dressing room. Raven wants to know if this is going anywhere and Richards tells us that Francine needs exposure or she wants to be on TV. JoJo is given a tour of the Arena by Richards as Francine is 2 feet from where they were. Its Stevie's babe, Francine, "Babe", she calls Stevie, "Sweet Cheeks." Raven tells them to stop the public display of attention, and so they stop. But then Beulah and Francine go at it in a cat fight. Thye get broken up by Raven and Stevie. The Pitbulls and Tommy Dreamer cut a promo talking about how the Dudleys and Raven/Richards have crossed the line with them and the legion of Raven's minions is getting smaller. By this time, Raven's Nest lost Hotbody and Stetson, but in their place joined Snot Dudley, Big Dick Dudley and Dudley Dudley. Dreamer and the Pitbulls challenged Raven's Nest to an 8-man tag team match later in the show. Raven's Nest then cuts a promo where they say the dysfunctional family is the modern nuclear family. Stevie says Beulah is jealous of he and Francine, setting up the angle that has Beulah leave the Flock later down the line. Meanwhile, Tommy's group is one man short for the 8-man tag team match, so they find a new partner to replace Luna Vachon, Cactus Jack! It's time for the now 8 man tag match: Pitbulls, Tommy Dreamer and Cactus Jack vs The Dudleys, Raven and Richards. Cactus has some comments first, he finds Dudley Dudley repetitive and then he says if there is a big Dick around anywhere, you know that Stevie Richards will be kneeling before it. Joey Styles talks about the stage being set up for the 8 man match and highlights of the match as Cactus is mimicking Raven. We hear the conversation between the two, Raven mentions some of the ECW losers. He talks about never getting a chance to see what would have happened if he locked up with Shane Douglas. The match starts off with Dreamer and Dudley Dudley and soon its Richards in and he gets a double DDT. Cactus is in cleaning house until Raven comes upon the scene and Cactus tags out to Pitbull II. But soon, Cactus runs in and DDT's Tommy Dreamer. The winner is Raven and Cactus Jack joins Raven's Nest. Joey Styles is back talking about the incident with Cactus Jack joining the Nest and theorizes on why he did what he did and says perhaps that Cactus is in great pain and is looking for understanding - somehow pain may have been a connection with Raven and Cactus Jack. They find Cactus in the lockerroom area. He was 2 hours late to a building he's been in many times before cause he forgot the way, he talks about how everything hurt him now , being dropped by Vader (which resulted in half his ear being chopped off), having Funk brand him (in IWA Japan) and not giving having revenge, and how Shane Douglas stabbed him in the eye. Cactus Jack says it all hurt. He says ECW fans may get off on pain, but they don't understand it. One person did, Raven, he understands it and all the thoughts that go on in that twisted skull of his. That's why he joined the Nest. September 13, 1995 - ECW debuts a re-mix of the video for the Filter song, "Hey Man, Nice Shot" with footage of Raven, Stevie, Beulah, and Francine mixed in. This is also when Sign Guy Dudley starts carrying signs for Raven. September 19, 1995 - The Pitbulls eventually turned against The Nest and were granted a shot at Raven and Richards' titles. Beulah and Raven go into the ring and say the match will be the best of 3 falls. Raven gets the first fall, Stevie gets pinned by Pitbull 2 for the second fall. Raven then chokes out Pitbull 2 with a rag, so Dreamer runs in chains himself to Raven and pins him! But the fall doesn't count. Mayhem breaks out as 911 runs in the ring and choke slams the referree Bill Alfonso. Pitbull2 gets up and powerbombs Raven and Richards. ECW Commissioner Tod Gordon makes the three count and the Pitbulls are the new ECW Tag Champions. They also take Francine as their manager at this point. September 26, 1995 - Raven and a beaten Stevie Richards make a speech. Raven says it took the help of everyone in the whole ECW locker room to beat him for the tag titles, "including Tommy F*cking Dreamer." He goes on to say people may think Stevie is a little wussy but he's still standing there with him. Raven goes on to say there will be a rematch and he will win this time. He has the referree, Bill Alfonso, on his side. The match will also be a lumberjack match with both the lumberjacks, 911 and Big Dick Dudley being on his side. He then says he'll superbomb both the Pitbulls himself if Stevie can't handle it. (On a side note, this is also the week Steve Austin debuts in ECW). October 7, 1995 - Raven and Richards regain the tag team titles by defeating the Pitbulls due to a double-arm DDT by Cactus Jack on one of the Pitbulls. However, they lose the titles that same night to The Public Enemy in a 3 way dance with the Public Enemy and New Jack and Mustafa Seed, The Gangstas. December 8, 1995 - Raven and Cactus Jack vs. Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk at the ECW Arena. Raven has been teasing Terry Funk for most of November, calling him a "hardcore has-been." A hardcore match, which included Terry Funk teeing off on Raven's crotch with a golf club! Ouch! Raven gets wrapped in barbed wire by Tommy Dreamer and Cactus and Raven lose. At this time, The Heavenly Bodies join Raven's Nest. At this time, ECW holds an event called Ultimate Jeopardy, between 2 teams in a steel cage - Raven's team; which consists of him, Stevie Richards, The Eliminators (Perry Saturn and John Kronus), and the Heavenly Bodies, vs. Tommy Dreamer, The Public Enemy, and the Pitbulls. The match also has some interesting stipulations: If Public Enemy loses - they must face each other later in the night. If the Pitbulls lose, they must split up as a team and whoever pins them gets Francine for a week. If Tommy Dreamer loses, his head gets shaved. If Raven loses, whoever pins him gets Beulah for a week. If the Eliminators lose, they must leave ECW. If Stevie Richards loses, then the winning team gets 5 mins in the cage with him. If the Heavenly Bodies lose, then all of the stipulations for their team are enforced. December 1995 - Raven defeats Tommy Dreamer and gains a shot at the ECW World Title held by The Sandman. Although Raven makes a good showing, Sandman wins their first battle. Around this time, the Blue Meanie joins Raven's Nest and one half of the Heavenly Bodies, Tom Pritchard, leaves the Nest to join the WWF as one half of the Bodydonnas. January 3, 1996 - Dancin Stevie Richards is in the ECW Arena ring. He says he's not here to steal the spotlight, but to welcome all the executives from Fox, PRIME and that they are in New York to see Stevie Richards in ECW. Stevie then goes to see Missy Hyatt. He takes the mic and Missy calls him a "clueless putz" and he offers her a ride in Raven's limo to show her how his sundial points to noon - he then offers her a date with Raven and she seems very interested in that and gives Stevie a big kiss and says to take that back to Raven. January 5, 1996 - Stevie Richards is in the ring and he now announces that he is to be known as "Studly Stevie Richards" because of the events with Missy Hyatt and that he is the original babe magnet. He says that Beulah's been neglected by Raven so Stevie will give her some late Christmas cheer. Beulah doesn't want to be touched. Stevie doesnt want to look bad in front of the ECW crowd, so Stevie goes to make a move on her, but Beulah screams. Beulah announces to Raven and to the world that she is pregnant. Stevie thinks he's going to be an uncle. Raven becomes incensed at this this and tells her that, "You were only supposed to take one pill a day, stupid!" Beulah then tells Raven that Raven isn't the father and Raven then starts to blame Richards for the affair. Beulah then shocks them all by announcing that neither Raven or Richards is the father, it is actually Tommy Dreamer. This drove Raven further down the spiral of hate and betrayal. Later on, a skit is shown with Dreamer in the hallway, saying how he could learn to love Beulah and how he can play a game of one upsmanship he'd be there for his kid, not like Raven. Tommy then walks into a room in the hotel and finds Beulah in bed. She gets up and then says "Tommy, I want to feel your pain", Dreamer then looks in the camera and then says "Go". The camera then leaves and as the door closes, it focuses on the "Do Not Disturb" sign. Raven becomes incensed at this and orders Cactus Jack to destroy Dreamer. January 27, 1996 - At this time, he replaced Beulah as his valet with the lovely Kimona Wanaleia. Just three weeks after Beulah's betrayal, Raven was granted another shot at The Sandman's belt. Raven was easily able to defeat Sandman on January 27, 1996 with the help of his Flock, and held the title for nine months, defending it against Sandman, Shane Douglas, "Bam Bam" Terry Gordy, and Dreamer. Comments from Raven, he's got a new girl, he's got the belt - he doesn't need Beulah, never needed her - never did. February 14, 1996 - Stevie Richards and the Blue Meanie are in the ring with Sandman. Richards was supposedly sent to give Sandman one chance to back out of the match at the Arena. Sandman reminds Stevie's he's never backed down from a fight and soon Meanie is gettingcaned- and he calls Stevie a bitch and tells him to tell Raven to get ready- he's coming for HIS belt. Raven is out to the ring with Kimona Wanaleia, he calls Raven a moron and that gets the Meanie's crap kicked out of him. Raven blames him for not giving Beulah her birth control pills. Raven starts slapping Stevie and Stevie begs for Raven not to hit him anymore. March 20, 1996 - Raven comments on ECW TV about how he thinks Dreamer loves everyone, his family, his friends, ECW and how Raven only loved one thing, Beulah - he's loved Beulah since he was 11 and now only Dreamer only loves her since he knows now what's in her box. March 26, 1996 - Raven makes his way to the ring on crutches suffering from gout (a metabolic disease marked by a painful inflammation of the joints)in his foot. He's joined by the Fabulous Ones (Stevie, the Blue Meanie, and Cactus Jack - making one of his last ECW appearances) and Kimona Wanaleia. Richards is trying to get Raven not to wrestle because of his gout, but "The Franchise" Shane Douglas wants his belt back and the fans want to see this match. This match went all over the place outside the ring- Raven is trying to get the match over as soon as he can, but Franchise is giving him a run for it Richards throws a chair into the ring to help Raven out. The Franchise must get rid of the Fabulous Ones as they are helping Raven out. There was also some help from Kimona as she tries to get in the Franchise's face and he puts her overhis knee to spank her and even though she seems to like it, Franchise wants none of her. Franchise is giving out suplexes left and right and while the ref is out, the Bruise Brothers (the WWF's DOA), new members of the Nest, are out to make the save for Raven. Raven gets the pin on Douglas for the win, and after the match, the Bruises are out to finish the match as they look to want to beat Douglas. But Dreamer makes the save and now the Bruises are kicking around Dreamer. Dreamer about to get it himself, but Sandman is in and he canes everyone in sight, except for Dreamer and Douglas- the three seem to have made some kind of bond to get Raven. April 2, 1996 - Raven and the Blue Meanie have a segment where they talk about how Raven has been wrestling with gout. The Blue Meanie is with a doctor talking about how the Raven's foot has been surgically reconstructed but is now shorter than his other leg. Meanie holds up the X - Ray device to prove this is true. Raven is in the segment and says not only can you feel his pain, Shane Douglas - now you can see it. April 15, 1996 - Joey Styles is in the ECW Arena for the opening of the ECW TV show and he's joined by ECW champion Raven, Dr. Mark Allen, the Bruise Brothers and of course Kimona Wanaleia. Dr Allen began treating Raven for gout - a severe inflammation of the joints which attacked his foot - but due to the trauma, Raven's foot looked like "Humpty Dumpty", he had to put it back together , it took 6 hours and many pins, staples and more to reconstruct the foot. The Sandman comes out to survey things with Dr. Allen and is in the ring and he says that if he can drink a case of beer before he wrestles, than Raven can wrestle with that foot. The Sandman is then attacked by the Bruise Bros. and then Shane Douglas and Tommy Dreamer come in for the save. Tommy's got Raven in the ring with the figure four. Prime Time Brian Lee (the WWF's Chainz) is in the ring to make the save for Raven. April 26, 1996 - In a match Raven has scheduled against Shane Douglas. Kimona announces that she has a secret that will destroy Raven. Kimona reveals that Beulah really wasn't pregnant at all, but used the pregnancy as an excuse to cover up a lesbian affair she was having with Kimona. Dreamer was also shocked by this announcement, until he announced that he was "hardcore" enough to handle both Kimona and Beulah at once. Chants break out in the ECW arena of "Raven's got no pussy, he just got the Meanie, but he also has Stevie!" Shane controls most of the match, he gets Raven in the figure four, Meanie tries to make the save by doing a moonsault, but Shane gets out of the way. Stevie ends up super kicking him, but Shane kicks out. One of the Bruise Brothers runs in to interfere, but Dreamer comes out to make the save. In the mean time, Shane has Raven down for the count as the ref is ushering Dreamer out. Shane and Dreamer exchange words, with Shane and Tommy going at it briefly. Shane takes off Raven's boot and goes for the figure four again, another run in by a Bruise Brother. While Shane fights off Raven's crew, Raven loads up his boot which is off and nails Shane. Raven gets the win. April 29, 1996 - Raven vs. Shane Douglas. Stevie lets Super Nova join Raven's Nest. Raven beats Douglas again with help from the Nest. October 5, 1996 - December 7, 1996 -Raven, driven to the edge by his lifestyle and personal turmoil, enters rehab for the fifth time in his life. However, even though Raven had a legitimate reason to take a sabbatical from ECW, Paul Heyman, ECW's owner, decreed that Raven's belt would be defended by Stevie Richards in a tag team bout pairing Richards with fellow Nest member Brian Lee against Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman. Sandman scored the pin on Richards and thus regained the ECW belt on October 5, 1996 at ECW High Incident. On Raven's return, he staged one of the acts he is famous for in ECW, when he staged a mock crucifixion of The Sandman after brutally attacking him. He also managed to get the Sandman's wife, Lori Fullington (Bubbles) and his young son, Tyler, to join his Nest. December 7, 1996 - ECW Holiday Hell 1996 - a no rope barbed wire death match - Raven vs. The Sandman for the ECW World Heavyweight Title. Raven comes out first with Lori and Tyler, but Todd Gordon and the referees immediatley force them back to the locker room. Sandman rips the leg of his pants sliding in the ring. They go back and forth, but Sandman ends up being the first one to end up against the wire. Things go back and forth a bit. Raven's shirt ends up getting ripped off and stuck on the wire. Sandman does an over the wire cane shot to the floor. They cut off a one side of the wire and use it as a weapon. Raven got whipped with the wire. Sandman wraps the wire around his body, knocks Raven out on the floor and attempts to splash him through a table. Things go back to the ring, Raven gets control. They try to do the piledriver on the table, but the table breaks too soon. Raven gives Sandman a DDT on the table, folds it over on top of him and gets the pin. And just like that, Raven wins the belt back, with a clean pinfall no less. Soon afterward, Stevie broke free of Raven's Nest and started his own group, the Blue World Order, a parody of WCW's nWo, which featured former Nest members, The Blue Meanie and Supernova. Raven's followers at this time were substantially diminished. They were Lupus and Chastity, who was in Justin Credible's entourage in ECW until she joined WCW to play the part of Raven's sister. February 23, 1997 - ECW makes an appearance on the World Wrestling Federation's Monday Night RAW. During a match involving Stevie Richards, then known as Big Stevie Cool of the Blue World Order, Raven comes out and does his Crucifix arm salute over a fallen Richards on the outside of the ring and then leaves. April 13, 1997 - Raven is set to defend his ECW World Title against the number-one-contender at ECW's first PPV, Barely Legal. The way the number-one-contender will be decided is the three top contenders to the title, Stevie Richards, The Sandman, and Tommy Dreamer, will lock-up in a three way dance for the spot. The winner would then face Raven immediately afterward for the title. Tommy Dreamer, fulfilling a debt of gratitude to his mentor in wrestling, gives his spot in the three way to that mentor, Terry Funk. After the hard fought 3 way, the winner was Terry Funk. And in less than 7 minutes, the new ECW champion was Terry Funk. This was Raven's last major match in ECW. May 10, 1997 - Raven fails to regain his title from Terry Funk in a 4 way dance between he, Terry Funk, Stevie Richards, and the Sandman. June 7, 1997 - Raven has one last match with Tommy Dreamer at Wrestlepalooza 1997 - aloser leaves town match, loser has to leave ECW. This match was the excuse given for Raven's leaving for World Championship Wrestling. Just as Raven is about to face Dreamer, one of Raven's remaining Nest members, Lupus, tells Raven he has nothing left to prove and that Raven should just leave, and Raven does! Dreamer chases after him and they do have a fight, which results in Raven's only ever pinfall loss to Dreamer in ECW. This is also Raven's last PPV appearance in ECW. June 30, 1997 - Raven is seen sitting at ringside during WCW Monday Nitro. The announcers recognize him as a champion from an independent organization. This will soon become commonplace, as WCW never acknowledges ECW as a legitimate organization. July 7, 1997 - This is the first time Stevie Richards is seen in WCW with Raven. He tries to get Raven to join WCW, but Raven will not sign. Instead, he slaps Stevie and knocks him down. WCW Bash At The Bash - July 13, 1997 - Diamond Dallas Page, WCW's golden boy, claimed to have a mystery partner set to face Scott Hall and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. "Mean" Gene Okerlund spies Raven at ringside, and decides to ask him if he is DDP's partner. Raven gives him a cryptic answer and goes back to sulking. Monday, July 14, 1997 - Raven is once again confronted by Stevie Richards, with "Mean Gene" Okerlund, and WCW's chairman, J.J. Dillon. J.J. reveals that Stevie negotiated his own contract for Raven, which includes a rental car, an eight-track player for all those long road trips, and he would make almost as much money as Stevie. Raven responded with a speech followed by a slap. Stevie's comment: "Hey, I mean well. . ." July 21, 1997 - August 21, 1997 - Stevie makes another attempt to get Raven to sign a deal with WCW, but Raven refuses. He tries to slap Stevie again, but Stevie blocks his slap. He tells Raven that, "You're not going to abuse me anymore." Raven smirks and leaves Stevie alone. For the next couple of weeks, Raven costs Stevie all of his matches. Stevie fights DDP and after DDP wins, Raven kicks Stevie all the way out to the ring apron. Raven also DDT's Stevie Richards during one match so quickly that Stevie doesnt know Raven did it. August 21, 1997 - Raven's in-ring debut for WCW at The Clash of The Champions. He takes the mic and insists that since he doesn't wrestle for WCW, he wants the match to be no-disqualification. Raven does all his signature moves in a match where Richards puts up zero resistance and finishes him up with a DDT. November 1, 1997 - Raven makes an appearance on WCW Saturday Night with Stevie Richards, and former ECW Eliminator Perry Saturn. Saturn faces young WCW rookie Billy Kidman in a dark match and when Saturn wins, they recruit Kidman into Raven's cult of misfits, which will now be called "Raven's Flock." They currently included Richards, Raven, Saturn, Kidman, and Sick Boy. November 3, 1997 Raven faces Scotty Riggs, a former WCW tag team champion. Raven and his crew come into the ring, insisting the match be held under no-disqualification, or as it comes to be known in WCW, "Raven's Rules." Raven and his mouthpiece Richards insist that Riggs join Raven's Flock, but he refuses. Raven then fights Riggs and seriously damages his eye. This starts an odd feud that culminates at WCW's World War 3. This is also the match where Mike Tenay dubs Raven's finisher, "The Evenflow DDT." November 11, 1997 - Raven debuts the newest members of his Flock, Van Hammer and Sick Boy. He also speaks on how his violent nature came to be, through his abusive childhood. November 23, 1997 - Raven is informed by J.J. Dillon that if he doesn't sign a contract with WCW, he will no longer be allowed in WCW events. Raven defeats Scotty Riggs at World War 3, and gives him a series of devastating Evenflows afterward. This would cause Riggs to eventually join the Flock. November 24, 1997 - Raven signs a contract with WCW, which allows him complete control over his matches. Riggs also joins the Flock this day, as well as Lodi. Saturn also defeats Disco Inferno to become the WCW Television Champion. This is also the start of a long, drawn-out feud with Chris Benoit. January 1998 - Raven loses to Chris Benoit at nWo Souled Out, after passing out to the "Crippler Crossface." February 2, 1998 - March 1998 - This is the date that Raven was asked by Mortis if he could join the Flock. Raven stated that Mortis could join the Flock if he could defeat Diamond Dallas Page. Mortis could not and thus was rejected by The Flock, by Raven DDT'ing him. The newest Flock member Reese also makes his debut in this time period. March 1998 - April 20, 1998 - March 18, 1998 -- Raven attacks DDP on MTV Live, and steals the WCW U.S. Heavyweight Title. This sets up a feud between DDP and Raven that concludes at WCW Spring Stampede, where Raven, with the help of new Flock member Horace Boulder, defeated Page to become the new U.S. champion. Raven would lose the title one day after he won it to new WCW rookie Goldberg. May 1998 - September 1998 - Hammer is kicked out of the Flock. This sets up a bad precedent that will eventually end Raven's Flock. Saturn, who was kept as Raven's right hand instead of Hammer, states he never was part of the Flock. Kanyon, who used to be known as Mortis, had begun to attack Raven as retribution for not being allowed in the Flock. Raven had Saturn fight Kanyon at the Great American Bash. When Kanyon won, Raven kicked him out of the Flock. A Raven/Saturn feud began with Kanyon sticking his nose in as well. Kidman and Horace and Reece became estranged from the Flock. Saturn challenged Raven for control of the Flock at Fall Brawl. Kanyon joins the Flock, and Raven, Lodi, and Kanyon become the new Flock. September 13, 1998 - September 21, 1998 - Raven loses his Flock to Saturn at Fall Brawl/Wargames on September 13. Kidman turns against him in this match and goes onto become Cruiserweight champion the next day on Nitro. On September 21., Raven and Kanyon nearly cripple Villano IV during a tag team match on Nitro where they botched an attempt at a neckbreaker/powerbomb combination move. Raven then enters an angle where he is depressed and loses all the time. He loses to Chris Jericho where he admits he hasn't been himself. He then goes off with his mom when Kanyon reveals he's been rich all along and his whole persona is a gimmick. Early 1999 - Raven returns with his "sister" (actually former ECW valet) Chastity and a new look Kanyon. Raven is much cockier than he was before and he gets a tremendoes fan response. He challenges Hak and Bam Bam bigelow to determine who is the most "hardcore" of the three at WCW Uncensored 99. Hak (formerly ECW's Sandman) wins after Raven's valet turns on him. Raven then comes out to the Club La Vela Nitro and challenges Ric Flair for his WCW World Title. Flair refuses to fight him, but offers him a title shot at the tag champs the Horsemen. Raven saus he has no partner, since Kanyon was making a movie at the time. Raven challenges the Horsemen by himself, gets taken out, Saturn helps him out and they win the titles, but the decision is instantly reversed. On 4/9/99 they win the titles in 3 way match on the WCW PPV Slamboree, no real reason is ever given for their reconciliation. On 5/31/99, Raven is jumped by DDP and Bam Bam Bigelow outside a nitro event at the Houston Astrodome. Saturn defends the titles solo in his absentia and they lose after Kanyon joins their team and throws the match. August 2, 1999 - Raven makes his way out with Vampiro and Insane Clown Posse. Raven controls the ICP from ringside and then helps Vampiro beat Eddy Guerrero. This becomes Raven's new stable, which he calls "The Deadpool" August 23, 1999 - In a locker room meeting backstage at Monday Nitro, Eric Bischoff, incensed at the WWF's hold on Monday Night Wrestling, decrees that WCW must become "company oriented" and not think of themselves to "kick Vince's ass." Bischoff then makes the offer to release any WCW wrestlers unhappy in the company. Raven then gets up and leaves the meeting in front of all of the WCW roster. 12 hours later, Raven is officially back in ECW. August 26, 1999 - In a shocker move, Raven makes his re-debut in ECW and amazingly enough wins the ECW World Tag Team Titles by defeating The WWF-bound Dudley Boyz. The most shocking thing is, Raven's partner is his arch nemesis, Tommy Dreamer! January 9, 2000 - Raven and Dreamer lose the Tag Team Titles to The Impact Players at ECW Guilty As Charged after Raven saves Francine from a cane shot from Justin Credible. Raven then turns face in an attempt to win Francine over as his new valet. March 4, 2000 - Raven and Mike Awesome win the ECW Tag Team Titles from The Impact Players under the influence of the Sinister Minister James Vandenburg, and Raven turns Francine heel as his new valet. March 12, 2000 - Raven and Awesome lose the belts to the Impact Players at ECW Living Dangerously in a 3-way dance including Dreamer and Tanaka. April 22, 2000 - Raven and Dreamer bury the hatchet at ECW Cyberslam. Raven's valet Francine also turns on him to help Justin Credible win the belt from Tommy Dreamer.
