Welcome to the SC S.T.U.D.Y. list. This list will differ from
most
in that differing opinions will be allowed as long as they are sincerely
and maturely presented. Judgemental attitudes and personal attacks
aren't allowed here.
These are a couple quotes from a great teacher and pastor, and this
list will be ran in light of these wise words.
"You see, whether you agree with me or not is of little concern
to me.
It's whether or not, as a servant of God, I can drive you into the
Word
whereby God can use you for whatever purpose He might have chosen.
Then my work is done. I have never insisted that someone believe
exactly
as I do because God didn't take a cookie cutter and make
us all just alike
and say, "You all have the same duty." "
Pastor Arnold Murray, #116 Daniel, tape 2, end of side "B"
"It is not meant that everyone is to see each scripture exactly in
the same
connotation because scriptures can have two separate levels of understanding.
Paul taught on three levels. That does not make you enemies.
And if you can't love your brother enough to know that
he might see
[differently], or God has a little different purpose for him
than you,
then you got trouble. You got to understand to give
your brother room as
long as he does not go contrary to the word."
Pastor Arnold Murray, #261 Phillipians, tape 1, beginning side "A"
It's ok to have different interpretations of the same things. It doesn't make you wrong because someone else has a different view of it. However, this does not mean you can't be in error in something, none of us are error free and we are all learning and growing.
