A TRIBUTE TO YOU DEAR FRIEND!

size

A veteran of World War Two
You served in the North African Compaign,
You also served in Italy
John Sameul Higdon is your name.

You were born in New Harbour, Trinity Bay.
A small community in Newfoundland,
Your mother's name was "Emma."
And your father's name was "Sam."

You grew up like most boys did
And you became a man,
You married a beautiful lady named "Hilda."
Who soon became your right hand.

God blessed you with two children
And you loved them both the same,
Your son you christened "Lorne John"
Your daughter you christened "Elaine."

War could not take you from us
Death's mission did fail,
You returned home to your family
For it was God's will.

Then God made a decision
It was time for you to leave,
For death took you from us
Leaving us to grieve.

No longer do you have to dream
About the memories of the war,
Now you can rest in peace
In the arms of Jesus for evermore!
