Throughout history there have been instances of flashes of light or shining beings in dreams and in real time that have imparted messages to the willing and sometimes not so willing! Often they have been called angels which gives them a label and a boundary. From my own experience I have known guides to be deceased loved ones, some have just been able to help and have no personal relationship to myself and then- there are others. The others are those who appear to have had no life on this earth at all. They may be 'extraterrestrial' or as my own guide, never have incarnated anywhere but are pure spirit.
There are also guides who may be said to be devic in nature. That is they come from the spirits of the earth- the plant, mineral and various other kingdoms that we inter- relate to in our lives. Guides may also be certain historical figures, although we find that such figures relate to past lives. An example would be communicating with an Egyptian priestess because there was a relationship between the past and the present life of the human. I have also in the past called upon so titled mystical beasts and have a good relationship with several dragons! Guides come in all shapes and sizes as you will I am sure, ascertain for yourself.
To those who know channelled writing the statement may be new concerning guidance that never incarnates, but let me say when my guide Ralad says it has never been on Earth nor has it lived, I am apt to believe it. Neither, says Ralad, "Am I of the angelic realm".
The advice given nethertheless is always appropriate and filled with love. Ralad has been in my awareness nearly five years now. Before that I had many friends in spirit come to guide or offer help to me, always with love, and that is important! Very important. In fact, to realise that love is the basic power to be able to use the information a guide may give. Any advice given that does not relate to the wellbeing of all concerned should not be followed. Just because a voice says go and steal [or worse] does not make it right - it is not a guide!
There are certain moral and ethical questions rising from this. My belief is simply that spiritual guidance is for just that. Guidance by a spiritual energy using Light and Love to help a human towards enlightenment I believe, does not include gossip or gambling. Think about it.
This is not as frightening as it may seem, so stop now and recollect what I have been saying about love and earlier, about commonsense. Right! You see we still have minds of our own and fall into the trap of relinquishing responsibility when it comes to the occult or unknown. 'They' made me do it or 'they' caused that to happen is utter rubbish!
I implore you to read the next few words carefully. I have never known a spirit to harm in any way the person it is in charge of, nor have I seen them mislead them. However, I have seen misinterpretation of messages to the extent where it fitted just nicely into what the person wanted to hear - not what was being told to them. This has occurred consciously and unconsciously in many minds and minds have their own knack of at times, misconstruing information.
I am not trying to dissuade anyone, in fact I wish to make it easier to use information. The matter concerns my friends and I ask that when dealing with them it be understood humans still must take responsibility for their actions. OK often the messages are cryptic or seem to be of little value but that does not mean they are not well intentioned Perhaps the value lies not in the message but in the fact you are communicating.
In this essence there is neither good nor evil, neither dark nor light but a universal cosmic balance. It is only when this energy from the essence becomes creation and creation becomes spirit and spirit becomes embodiment that light and dark become reality within the minds of men.
Do read carefully and take it in...
"Men with their minds then take on the ideas of good and evil to control and give power to what they feel is right and wrong. Man judges man by his power of intellect and yet takes not into account his own vulnerability to the power of created reality.
This power is then given to the thought forms of good and evil-do you not see that if one race of connected beings believes for a thousand years that the world is flat that it truly is flat until such time one individual uses the power for himself to challenge that created reality. This also works in reverse when those of authority start to say this is not so and the consciousness of the race follows and takes back the power of the created thought. It happened many times in your history that those who feel their own power is waning will take away the power from another. I give you the instance of missionaries who thought they were doing the work of God, who took away the power of the local deities and replaced it with their own reality. So much harm has been done by this forceful nature. Man has forgotten all he knew of the harmonic existence that was led before."
To be psychic does not mean the person is spiritual. The two are different in that to use psychic energy you do not have to have the in depth understanding of 'truth and correctness' that was quoted earlier. It may appear strange that someone with clairvoyance or the ability to see and hear the spirit world is not spiritual.
I have seen this for myself and wondered, but I believe to have an ability or knowledge and use it wisely is another matter. One can parrot fashion say that a spirit called [for instance] 'Old Bear' has given certain information to a person who used their knowledge of how to tune into the spirit world, yet it is another to understand who and when to give that information. It is not to the detriment of 'Old Bear' but to the human who either takes the responsibility or not.
I believe anyone taking on psychic work in any form must also have an idea of the spirituality involved and therefore as part of their work use it with wise counselling, never forcing the client to believe and above all never, ever setting themselves up to be a guru who knows all. The fact is, no one person can really know 'all' there is to know nor can they impart it to another. Some may come close to this but they can be counted on one hand. Use any information given to you wisely then you will not only be using the psychic but also the spiritual element .
At this point I wish to speak about the created reality of bad vibes, evil and the devil. Do I sense some apprehension in the air concerning this subject or do you relish the thought that all is not nice 'out there' ?
Most books on enlightenment and spiritual or psychic work will mention a warning or three about how to keep oneself safe from the various evils that abound in the astral world. To me it is not what lurks elsewhere, out of our control that is a problem -it is what is within the mind. Having said before about how the human mind misconstrues information let me re-iterate that it can and does do so with exceptional regularity.
It follows that thought can be directed to good or not good, shall we say, and that thought creates reality. Thought can be magnified to become flesh and bones if it wishes and this is where so called evil lies, in the mind of the one who created it. This can and does become real, I have seen it. Usually it stays to play havoc with the thinking and feeling of an individual but I have experienced it take over a person's life until they are living their worst nightmare. And this has all come from their own mind!
Certainly much has to do with the subjective experiences and beliefs of their cultural background and in one case I know of, stemmed from another person's belief system. This person being a 'psychic'. In this instance the 'reader' explained how to safeguard against being 'possessed' and that a certain spirit hanging around the individual was a low entity which must not be given any chance to 'get into' the client. The human became so scared that they were turned away from finding out about spiritual matters or at least needed assistance and protection all the time. The psychic took charge of the spirit itself and helped it [I hope].
Perhaps this entity/energy was just trying to find help, [which I have found to be the main reason one experiences them ] as not all disincarnate energies are guides. Here I mention again that we give away our power for the strangest reasons...
Ralad has lectured long and hard on this subject-
"You must always remain positive then only positive can come of it....What if someone born in the dark came to you -you said it would not happen and neither it would yet some believe in it. We in spirit say all are redeemed no matter what. You read Wicca believes in no personal devil and neither is it so. Satan is only the old god Saturna whence you name the day. How strange it is that man has changed and perpetrated such silliness. Reality is what you make it and for me it is light and love eternal. I see good in all things, there are none in spirit who would call me naive. And I am not..."
None of this should frighten you,if,you understand you own the answers to a problem and the power to be able to help. It does not frighten me!
Often, you will find spiritual guidance is given to you almost like being a child in kindergarten. From my own experience I am quite often called "my child" or "daughter". However this is not a condescending attitude on the guide's part, the wiser the words the more simplistic the explanation. Ego also seems to be a trait that does not exist with them. It is taken for granted by spirit that we can all learn at any stage of our development, or should I say reconnect with knowledge we once had.
At this point I would like to introduce my guide Ralad. He, or correctly it, has been in my consciousness for more than five years now. In my sub conscious I believe we have worked together before, in ancient times. Ralad would be called a 'high guide' or even master by some, but to me he is an adviser and good friend. He truly has no sex - although I tend to pick up on the male part of his being, and that 'being' is all he is. There is no physical substance to Ralad- he has not lived and therefore claims no particular body as clothing. He is an energy, a light, and that light is gold in colour. Unlike some guides, Ralad is often elsewhere helping and advising, without a body to manifest into he is still very able to make his presence known.
It is not always necessary to have Ralad constantly with me for 'protection' as apart from any other reason, I know I will not be harmed. When I started working with the likes of Ralad I often asked for more and more protection, which I was given. Now however the knowing [ ie. the created reality] is all I need. Ralad would be at my side in less than a nanosecond if need be. Created reality has a lot to do with the boundaries we set with our guides and the communication we have with them.
Personally, I was told in the early days [before Ralad] that guides could only be and do certain things..This is true in the case of where we must take responsibility for our lives, but it also sets very strict boundaries. I was told my guides could and should only stay by me and not leave as it was 'dangerous' for myself - and they just didn't do that type of thing! Nevertheless my guides, or at least some of them, pay home visits and they never charge!
These are my friends in spirit which allow me to help others, and just as I move around so do they - they have few boundaries unless they are set by the human they are with. It took some time to realise that the person I was listening to had set limitations for themselves and therefore their clients . [This particular person also had thoughts about spirits having sex after their earthly life- an idea I find amusing].
I have a very uncomplicated handout that I give anyone who is slightly interested in spirit guides. It was written by Ralad early in my present association with him. Gauging by the language it was at a time when my boundaries had been set by the influences of that particular time in my life. This is it word for word -
A guide is a spirit who has chosen to help you- a spirit in body, on your path through life. They may be male or female or choose no sex at all. This is the same with their name, it is what you feel comfortable with, after all where they come from it does not matter. They also may have been on this earth many times or they may have never incarnated but one thing is certain - they are here to help, if you will but call on them. All would be of light if you ask them and you can make them if you would just give love.
Yes! Sometimes many more than one, for there are healing guides, teaching guides and those who will do anything for you. They will be compatible with your needs but you may ask for another or one who specialises. You have had a guide since birth but they may change as you change as your learning needs change.
Your guide is always here but there are other jobs they may do as well as work with you But- just call on a white light, your god - what you feel comfortable with then - ask for your guide of light. Speak in your mind, ask questions- and wait- it may take time but an answer will come. Trust it- it is your guide. Show love for they will give you love. Speak often, do not be afraid, words of love will come.
It is up to the guide, they may wish to appear as they did at some stage on earth or they may appear as a light only, it is for your comfort only. If you do not physically see them it is no matter. They may not choose to or the power or link may not be strong enough. A guide may also be a departed one, a friend or relative with a close link with you, then they may choose to appear as you knew them.
Then ask them to change, they are here in love to help you. All you have to do is ask.
In my belief guides have a code of ethics which they adhere to without setting untoward limitations on the person they are working with. Interference is not allowed in the game of life but guidance is always given to be used as the human sees fit.
High guides are those who are highly evolved energies who come with loving assistance to aid in spiritual development. The word 'high' is often used to set them apart from other spirits who are willing to give help as best they can. 'High' not so much in altitude as attitude in regard to ethereal knowledge and wisdom. Ralad is a high guide as are many of the guides I work with.
Although I repeatedly mention how they appear to operate here is a short list of how high guides respond.

| .will not pander to your ego or anyone else |
| .are not interested in gossip [racing or gambling] or anything that puts humans at risk |
| .in any way - emotionally or physically |
| .challenge your preconceived ideas in a loving manner |
| .are always courteous and have good manners |
Ralad wrote in 1991 a simple explanation about himself and other guides in two sessions to a friend who was interested. You will note how the piece on "What is a spirit guide?" differs to the way this letter is written. Boundaries were coming down and I was allowing Ralad to express as he wished. This is how it went....
"You understand a little of the light waves and sound waves. You know these travel at different strengths or vibrations. So something travelling at the speed strength, vibration, frequency of light can pass through the frequency of the slower sound. It penetrates the sound frequency.
I give you the volcano its sound of eruption is usually less intense than the light of its destruction. If you grasp this then I say to you the spirit of higher levels may have the same base yet they vibrate differently to those closer to earth . Obviously the closer we are to earth the slower are the vibrations, many find this so difficult they are reluctant to do this for long or not at all. I, myself am strong yet find it difficult to come to terms with much of earth's vibrations. But my intent is there to reach and teach and so by that very intent I manage to do so. 'Kalia' [me] in body could not raise her vibrations to mine, she would blow herself apart, but she has been here [spirit] just as all once were one and were here. So much can be seen to be done by very intent it is marvellous. You must keep up your faith in yourself and intend to do something about it. I encourage all on the path. Ralad."
Several weeks later it appeared Ralad wished to impart a little more to my friend about the way spirit worked. There is, in some circles, thought that guides and spirits who communicate with us have a hierarchy divided into planes and dimensions or spheres. Once again note the style and the apparent egoless attitude Ralad has to information he gives.
"I am Ralad. I am always here. And yes I am the one to set the record straight, for it is my job to organise these things. In spirit hierarchy is not something taken lightly yet it is not something to lord over others either. You see we all come from the one source and that is which some call God the powerhouse of spirits. The truth is we would all like to return to this light and we strive to do so even the lowest of the low that you would call. Eventually every spirit will gain the knowledge and return. I am so close I could be called part of god just as you are but in a different context. My life is not of earthly things and has never been hindered by such.
It is as complex and as simple as my daughter says we try to simplify these matters for you. These planes and dimensions were mentioned...and yes it complicates matters somewhat. A plane is a level of learning and a dimension is a level of power. This does not mean 6 dimension 9 plane is any more knowing in every particular matter than 4 dimension 2 plane -it is experience that can help here. Unless you have experienced all then you must allow others to help you and that is the way it is.
Many of my pupils have taught me, a great master is always willing to learn - it is a sign of love and wisdom.....She[me] wishes me back to the question. Right call the earth .5 plane and the so called astral plane 1- a lost soul [ghost] is caught somewhere between 0-.75. You get the idea neither here nor there. On the astral plane so closely related to your earth you rub shoulders and often interconnect with it...
It is not as clear cut as some would have it. I have made it clear to Kalia it is not the way I see it.
To me there are many levels and each has its', only if minute, reason for being. Indeed you could say '9' is not the ultimate and God is the ultimate but the finite- grasp this and you grasp God. No number could possibly be put on it...
You too have the power and realisation is all you need with love light to progress through - no one is excluded. My advice is take my truth, feel it, let it settle with what you think then form your own truth. This I believe you can understand but know I can speak to you again when and if you wish. Remember knowledge is power and power is good if used with love and light. It is Ralad."
As I mentioned this related to a particular person and question, nevertheless, Ralad loves to communicate on such matters and gives advice which may be taken so you may 'form your own truth'. This means advice is given but if it does not appeal to anyone it is not forced upon them as sacred teaching. In wisdom it is better to listen and learn then allow ourselves to -
If you ever feel the need you may call upon Ralad to help, whatever the situation might be. He has, for those who need it, used a physical appearance. I am told he appears sometimes as a Tibetan monk with a large rod of golden light - which he is not afraid to use ! His main feature is that of golden light and an intense feeling of love and wisdom moves with him where-ever he goes. Ralad is quick to point out though, that humans must also help themselves, but guidance is always lovingly given.
