In this Bernard Slade drama, Scottie Templeton is a charming, irresponsible fellow.  A sometime Broadway press agent and former screenwriter, he's everyone's friend, nobody's hero and a great womanizer who has managed to live over 50 years without taking anything seriously including love, marriage and parenting. Life has been one continuous gag.  But at 51 he finds the script has been rewritten: no longer as a comedy, he is fatally ill.  His son Jud, alienated by years of neglect comes to visit and it is Scottie's dream to make friends before time runs out.

Directed by Jerry Abbott.

"Very funny, and at the same time touching work ." --WABC-TV

"Slade can blend comedy and pathos skillfully . . . He can also slice
cleanly into truth."    Wall Street Journal
