We continue here with the amazing Tube Fly creations from the vise of new Contributing Fly Tyer, Jurij (Yuri)Shumakov. Tube flies have been popular in Europe and Scandinavia for quite some time, but have not gained a significant foothold in North America. Fortunately for us, Yuri has had the opportunity to fish his flies for Pacific salmon and they have proven quite successful. You can see more of Yuri's flies at The Flies of Jurij (Yuri)Shumakov.

YURI'S NOTES: The whole population of the Kolpakova river couldn?t tolerate presence of this fly in water. It took, with a confidence, Silver Salmon, Rainbow, Dolly Varden and Kamchatka Endemic White Spot Char (Kundzha). Cone-head tube flies are very well balanced flies. You may use quite a big single or double hook with them, which will be counterbalanced by the cone-head. The fly with a light hook will wobble in a good stream and that gives additional attraction to your lure. In slow current, the fly behaves like a jig going up and down when you retrieve.
