Name Leon's Coho Angler Category Coho Salmon, Steelhead, Rainbow Hook Salmon Single Size 4 Making Angler Lure Take a length of 12lb or Stronger Monofilament Nylon and secure on vice. About 1 or 2 inches away from the vice, tie a knot in the nylon and then stretch and secure the nylon somewhere close by on your bench. Now tie on Fire Orange thread at the knot and then tie on some white or other colour Marabou of your choice. End by building a small head with thread, secure with super glue on thread. ( I then applied a small amount of epoxy glue on thread for good measure) Body Hook shank weighted with lead wire. Tie on large piece of Pink Marabou for tail with several strands of Veniard Krystal Flash (Pearl), then tie on length of copper wire and a length of Pink Chenille (Fine FSC3). Leave for later. Now tie on and wind around the hook shank a good portion of Veniard Glister Sparkle Dubbing (Pearl). Keep even throughout the hook shank use tying thread lightly to hold dubbing at this stage. Now wind the copper wire tightly around the hook shank leaving at least 1/8 inch spacing on each turn. Tie off copper wire at least 'inch behind hook eye. Now, using a Velcro Hook tool, give the Sparkle Dubbing a very good rub with the tool to bring out all the fibres. Now wind on the length of Pink Chenille also leaving a good space between each turn, and tie off but don't cut Pink Chenille at this stage. Apply (Angler Lure by judging the length of the Angler Lure that you want. Tie a knot on the Monofilament as a stopper grip when you tie it down with fire orange thread. Now wind the rest of the Pink Chenille, ensuring that you wind it around to hold the Angler Lure in an upright position. And finally use thread to tie down chenille and form small head. Comments This lure is based on the Angler Fish that uses an extended lure above its head to lure its prey. The free-floating Angler Lure creates a lot of additional movement of the pattern. Experiment with different colours for the free-floating Angler Lure. Tight Lines!

Leons Notes:This innovative pattern is based on the "Angler Fish" and may prove worthy on Coho Salmon, unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to try this one out yet. It is hoped that your viewers of the site will give it a go. I'm pretty confident that it will catch. It is easy to make and open to experimentation with different colours.
