Gamakatsu T10-6H, Mustad 36890, Daiichi Steelhead Irons size 8-2

Thread Black, brown, or fluorescent green
Tail Black, grey, brown hair or white marabou, tied comet-style
Body

Fluorescent green chenille, floss, or ice chenille, ribbing with tinsel or Green yarn, optional''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

Hackle Grizzly, black, brown, or white.  Either match or contrast with the tail, your choice.

The original Green Machine is credited to Al Perryman as Mike Foster notes below. This version was tied by by Contributing Fly Tyer Mike, who took the idea and tied different variations, this one with a white marabou tail and white hackle.

Mike's Notes: The Green Machine pattern had numerous versions just by changing the hackle and tail material and keeping the flourescent green body theme.  Al Perryman gave me the original when we were teaching together in the Fenwick flyfishing schools.
