This is one of the early simple nymph patterns, dating back to the 1950s. It was originated by Bill Schaadt for Northern California's Russian River. It is designed to be fished to schooled-up, spooky fish. Tie it in smaller sizes, eg. 12-14 and fish it on a long, fine leader.
