            Granite

            It's a good stone
            he says as he hones
            and tapers
            and valiantly guards
            the old rhythms of life.

            I wonder if he thinks
            he can stop time's gobli?

            It's a good stone
            he said
            and hearing the richochet
            as vandals target
            the overgrown marker

I wonder if they never think
of the golblin lying under their feet?
