            Chaos Defeated

            In pre-Light existence
my soul formed no rhyme. Chaos grasped me
            and clasped me
in a whirling mass of vertigo
            named confusion . . .
            disorder . . .

            Thickness threatened to drown me
at midnight as demons danced and
            nightmares spun.

            Jesus the Mighty God
            saved me,
defeating chaos by the ordering of Love . . .

And the one who walked in darkness
            has seen a great light,
            the one who dwelt
in the land of the shadow of death,
upon her the light has shined.
