How do you play "Boffer War"?

Boffer War is a generic term I use for explaining any sort of war game played with boffer swords. In fact, any one can make up their own rules for Boffer War as long as all the players agree.

During my years of experience, here is a set of rules that I have created:

If a person is hit anywheres below the knee, the blow does not count. Note: You cannot purposely block a strike with that area; Doing so is grounds for reprimand.

If a person is hit between and including the knees and the hip, he must fall to the ground and cry out something to the effect of, "Aiee! You lopped off my leg!" He then loses all use of that leg and may not stand at all.

If a person is hit below the wrists, then the blow does not count. You may not block or grab with your hands intentionally!

If a person is hit between and including the wrists and shoulder, he must drop anything carried in that hand and cry out something to the effect of, "Aiee! My arm!" He then loses all use of that hand and his arm must hang limp at all times.

If a person is hit on the torso, abdomen, or the backsides of those mentioned, he must fall to the ground and cry out something to the effect of, "Aiee! I'm dead!" He then must lay motionless on the ground until the game is over. He may not move or talk.

There are to be no hits to the face! A face shot does not count as a kill, and if behavior persists, the offender may be reprimanded.

If a person is hit on the head but not on the face, it is optional if it counts for a kill or not. Note: Decide before the game is begun!

Optionally, the players may have capture the flag rules involved as an objective for the game.
