The Postman

I didn't have high hopes for this movie. It was filmed in a neighboring state, but I didn't care. It flopped hard at the box office. Not that it matters, because I liked Costner's Waterworld. It was a great action movie, but this one tries to be too much. In Waterworld, Costner wasn't trying to send a message or prove a point or glorify how much he loves himself. In The Postman we get all of this and just plan too much of it.\

It starts out good, but when a film relies on mail delivery for climatic scenes, it's pretty sad. I would give anything for Costner to redo this flick and make it about something besides the US Postal Service. Though he does give the phrase "going postal" a whole new meaning. The scenes with the Postman stranded in the cabin are so painfully dull I just wanted to cry. I mean what was the point of eating weed and snow soup if nothing unfortunate ever happens in the woods. It's like Swiss Family Robinson or something.

The ending is so anticlimatic. I want Braveheart battles and he gives me freaking Cutthroat Island. What up with that?

The Postman is always kinda of a wimp and needs to be slapped most of the time. He's pretty stupid and never sees what he brings with him to the followers. He's just so blind, why can't he see it and feed off of it. I hate that. I give The Postman a D.
