Well, it's been a while since I've done anything significant to this site. And, more than likely, a long while before I actually do it again! *LOL*
Well, I've finally graduated from my schooling, and I'm now a Spy Tech of the Fire Controlman (FC) rating. I've been promoted a couple times since I last put this out, now ranking as a 3rd class (E-4). Hopefully, I'll be E-5 before my re-enlistment time comes around...might stay in if I do, don't know as of yet.
Anyways, I've been on a partial cruise over to the Gulf. It was pretty warm over there, nothing too serious in the way of threats. *shrugs* Would have bought some gold there, but it was only a few dollars cheaper than here in the States per gram. Nothing special.
From there, went to Valleta, Malta. Had a great time, though I didn't go and do anything so that I could save money in order to get an apartment.
Oh, did I forget to mention I got married to a gorgeous girl back in December, 2001? Well, I did. You can see her on the main page. :)
Pulled into port on the 27th of March, and have been enjoying the fact that I don't have to stay cooped up onboard the whole time. Much needed break.
I went cranking--working with the Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) division--which wasn't so bad. It lasted all the way through our yard period. The only bad things about it was having to move all the HAZMAT from the ship to the pier (all 7 tons of it, literally) with only 3 people, then, at the end of it, moving it back onboard ship. Was able to work a normal work day, which woulda been impossible if I had been with the mess decks. But, I DID have to stand duty along with it, so it wasn't all good as far as that was concerned.
**UPDATE**
I'm now out of the navy and looking for a job. I've started negotiations with a couple promising companies, but have to wait and see for now.
While I was in the Navy, I did a great many things. Most notably, I was away from my family for almost the whole time. Something I do not intend to do again if I can help it.
Along with all of this, I was able to represent myself in a superb manner, making myself an asset to my command. Unfortunately, I never received recognition for this until after I had gotten out: I received a pre-dated NAM (Navy Achievement Medal) to indicate my years of dedicated service and so-forth. heh Good to know I was appreciated in the end, but would have been nice if someone said something before then. Even a thank you or good work would have sufficed. Oh well.
Now that everything is done, I suppose the only regret I have is that I will not be seeing any of the people I eventually considered to be my friends. Didn't realize how much of their crazy antics I would miss until now.
So, that's a little more about me. Hope people are happy and eventually visit the page. hehe
More to come later...
