Getting the tattoo. Yes, it's real. Yes, it hurt. No, I wasn't drunk, but I was soon after....
Here's the finished product. I chose Jay and Silent Bob because they're funny as hell. They also represent two sides of my personality. Irreverent and abasing, and quiet and thoughtful. Et cetera et cetera.... I will be proud in 50 years to tell my grandchildren that I did not choose to be a poser and get a tribal symbol even though I do not belong to a tribe, a Japanese character because I my heritage is not Japanese, etc. I will tell them that I chose to get symbols of a disillusioned generation to which I belong who make the most of their lives even though there isn't much going for them. I wanted something to symbolize my perspective on life as it is right now. So I chose Jay and Silent Bob. I do not feel the need to defend my decision as it is one I am very happy with and fuck anyone who tries to tell me it was wrong!
