Today the Don horse is both riden and driven and makes an ideal mount for the herdsmen of any regian. It is a wry horse, rather long on the leg, standing 15.1-15.3hh The usual colors are chesnut, bay, and grey, and some horses have the characteristic Russian gold "sheen" to the coat.
