Quicksilver

Host/Announcer: Ron Maestri

Premise: Three contestants battle for $500 and a trip to somewhere in California.

Rules: In round one, the contestants are shown four answers. The question is read, and the first player to buzz in and identify the correct answer earned 2 points. Answers could be repeated, and there was no penalty for a wrong guess. Three questions were played, and then four new answers were shown. This was repeated five times, then the round ended.
In round two, four answers were shown, and the "Quicksilver" response took the fifth space. Correct answers were worth 50 points, and used answers were replaced by new ones. If the answer was not on the board, the "Quicksilver" response could be called. The player calling "Q" then had to identify the real answer, and scored 100 points for doing so. After that, the player had a chance to answer a follow-up question, and the player could bet up to 200 points on it. Ten questions were played this round.
In round three, the contestants came up with the answers to eight questions worth 75 points each, and the correct answers went on the board.
Round four had the players use the answers on the board for 100 points each. Two "Quicksilver" questions were in play, worth 200 points and up to 400 on the follow-ups. When two answers were left on the board, the high scorer won the game and a prize. If there was a tie, one final question was played.

The first player to answer a "Quicksilver" question correctly won a bonus prize
Bonus Game: In the "Silver Streak," the champ had 45 seconds to answer $50 questions from 15 choices. $500 won the player a bonus trip, usually to a nearby California resort. Originally the champ had 60 seconds, but too many people were finishing with 20 or more seconds, so the rules changed.
