Lingo

Word Portion The team is shown the first letter of a five letter word.
S
One player guesses the word, and is shown which letters are in the right place, and which are right but in the wrong place.
S
T
O
R
Y

In the example, only the S is in the right place. The partner then gives his or her guess:
S
T
O
R
Y
S
H
E
E
T
The S amd H are now in the right place, and the E is in the word, but not in the third spot. The team now has three more chances to guess the word correctly:
S
T
O
R
Y
S
H
E

S
H
A
M
E

The team in control guessed the word correctly, so they score 25 points, and get to draw two balls from their hopper. More on that in a moment. The following infractions forfeit control to the other team, and give them a bonus letter, the leftmost letter that has not been filled in.

* Guessing a word that doesn't exist, or is not five letters long.
* Misspelling the word.
* Taking too long

Lingo Portion
After solving a word, the team gets to draw balls from their hopper.
The Lingo Card is a bingo card, with even numbers for one team, and odd numbers for the other team. Each card begins with ten numbers already marked off on it:

Filing a line wins 25 points, keeps control, and gives them a fresh supply of balls.

After a LINGO, play passes to the opponents.

In round two, words are worth 50 points, LINGOs are worth 100, and three "?" balls are added to the mix, and may be used for any number.

Bonus Lingo
The winning team has two minutes to solve as many words as possible. Each solve wins $100 and one ball from the bin. After the time is up, a Lingo card with thirteen spaces filled is shown, and twelve balls are in the bin. If a Lingo is made with the number of balls allowed, a $4000 prize package is won, in addition to the cash; otherwise it's just the money. If a team can't solve any words at all, they get no money, and thus can't play Bonus Lingo.

Tournament of Champions
For season three, the eight teams who scored the most words in Bonus Lingo were invited back to play in a seven-episode Tournament of Champions.

The quarter-final and semi-final matches were played just like the regular shows, with the winning team having a chance at $5,000 and a trip in the bonus round.

The Final game was played in three rounds: a 75/150 point round replaced Bonus Lingo. When time expired, the team with more points won a Suzuki Aerio SX for each teammate.
