Cash Cab

Contestants play a game of trivia questions in the comfort of a New York City taxicab.

Contestants enter the taxicab and flashing lights and bells go off, indicating that it is the Cash Cab. The contestant tells Ben where he or she intends to go in New York City, and Ben drives toward the destination. While Ben drives, he asks the contestant questions. Right answers win money, wrong answers earn strikes. If the contestant answers three questions incorrectly, the game ends, the money goes away and Ben pulls over the cab, leaving the contestant to walk the rest of the way.

The first five questions are worth $25. That amount doubles after five questions, and redoubles after another five. All remaining questions are worth $100 until the rider strikes out or reaches the destination.

If the player can score $200 or more before Ben reaches the first red light, he or she gets to play the Red Light Challenge. A five-part question is asked, and the rider must give all five right answers in 30 seconds to win $250. If any parts are missed, the money is not won, but the player does not get a strike.

If the player can make it all the way to the destination without giving three wrong answers, that person has a choice to make. The rider can either take all of the accumulated money and leave, or risk it all for double-or-nothing on a Video Bonus question. A video clip is shown and a question accompanies it.
