Bullseye

Premise: Two contestants attempt to answer general knowledge questions in categories determined by big spinning windows.

PLAY: Rules: The champion is given the first spin. The gameboard is a giant star with three circular windows. The two top windows display one of four categories )each unique to the left or right window, for eight total) and dollar amounts ($100 or $150), and the bottom window displays a number 1 through 5, or the eponymous bullseye. After the the contestant presses the button on their podium, the swirls come to a stop and reveal one piece of information for each window; for two categories and dollar amounts, and the number/bullseye.

The contestant has their choice of the two categories on the windows, and must answer the number of questions in the bottom window, which becomes the "contract" for that turn. After each correct answer is given, the value of the category is put into a bank. If the contestant answers the required number of questions correctly, that player is faced with a dilemma: spin the wheels again, risking the money in the bank, or keeping the money, and giving control of the game to the opposition. These decisions were very important because the game was won by the first player to win $1000, and the bank could be $500 or more very quickly.

BULLSEYE!
If a bullseye appeared in the bottom window, the contestant could answer as many questions as desired, with the option of stopping after each.

If a contestant misses any question, control of that contract goes over to the opponent, who can then answer the remaining questions and take control. This went back and forth with players answering questions, filling contracts and so forth until one player banked money that added up to $1,000 or more. That player won the game and played the bonus round, though the loser kept any cash banked during the game.

Bonus Game: The contestant spun the three windows. The windows either had from $100-$300, a bullseye, or lightning. If the windows showed only money and bullseyes, the money is added to the bank, and the bullseye windows could be "frozen" out of play. If the player spins lightning, the bonus game ends and the player wins nothing. If the player gets bullseyes in all three windows, the money in the pot is doubled, and the prize package is won, usually $4,000 worth of stuff. If the player spins ten times without being struck by lightning, the player wins the prizes and $5,000. Players continue to play until defeated, and win a car for every five wins.

Notes: The car won by players was the Chevrolet Chevette. The bonus game was played on a moving part of the set, "bonus island." Jules Minton, previous Jeopardy! Producer, won $50,000 on Bullseye.
