Religion isn't an important part of my life. I, personally, think I follow the "Whitney" religion...I go with what my heart AND my head, together, tell me. Just warning you. But I also know other religions should be respected. Many people believe that they way they follow religion is 100% right, and that everyone else is wrong, such as how Christians tend to view Wiccans. In my opinion, they just view Him in a different way - in a masculine and feminine view. I just feel Wicca isn't the right religion for me. Since being saved February 2000, I felt a lot happier, feeling like there is someone to depend on in troubles. After awhile, I found that many of the things the church I was going to was teaching me, wasn't right - such as gays are wrong, alcohol is 100% evil (though I don't drink), etc. Many people don't feel total joy after being saved and I can understand that. Not everything fits everyone. Many people will get saved and stay a hardcore Christian forever. It's just not for me.
Also, I have to bring up the point of homosexuals, seeing as everyone seems to disagree on that point. If they agree, hey, they get a cookie. Anyways, I do not think gays will go to Hell simply because they are gay. It makes no sense that an ever-loving and all that type of guy will tell them to burn forever and ever just because they fell in love with the same sex, since it doesn't hurt anyone. I feel if they live a good life, they will have a nice eternal life in the sky. You can't help who you love. You can avoid them, or be in denial, but you will still love them.
Just because you are a different religion doesn't mean I'm going to hate you or give you the Evil Eye. Most of my close friends are atheists or agnostics. Most people who call themselves Christian don't act it, or some Wiccans only say they are Wiccan to follow the crowd. No one is exactly what they say they are or appear to be.
My own religion is based upon feeling content. Many people will say that this isn't a smart idea, but I think that if there really is an all-loving God, then it is. Some people feel content sleeping around - although I definitely don't think this is a smart thing to do, if it makes you happy and doesn't cause anyone harm in any way, then it's okay. (Usually, however, sleeping around causes harm to someone in some way, so it's not a smart idea.) I believe there is a God, wholeheartedly, but I don't go to church, and I think that because there are millions of religions, and billions of people, there is no way He will throw 5,000,000,000+ people into the firey pits of Hell because they guessed wrong. And that's all religion is, isn't it? Guessing.
You don't have an infinite knowledge of all religions on the planet right in front of you. You can make an educated guess about what makes you happy, but you can never quite know if it's the "perfect" religion.
I could go on and on about my religious views...but i won't, because my ideas could fill pages upon pages. If you have any questions, feel free to email me, but don't preach at me and don't try to convert me. Just let me be happy in my own way.
