SPECIAL FORCES

Round 10

On the tarmac of the docking bay:

[GM] As the possessed body of Are swings his lightsaber at Sha, the Barabel backpedals furiously.  Sha can tell that he is not quite going to dodge the blow, and brings his cybernetic arm up, bracing for the impact.
At the last moment, there is the hum of another lightsaber.  Skillfully, Bif reaches up to intercept the vicious blow, the two energy blades flashing and hissing as they collide.
Are bears down on the blade, attempting to drive Bif to the floor.  But Biff's lightsaber training shows again.  His grip is firm and he does not budge -- in fact, the false Are stumbles back a step as the lightsabers disengage.
Circling and closing, Wei Ping draws a bead on Are's exposed side. She fires.  Are almost casually sweeps his lightsaber to brush the blaster bolt aside.  It ricochets, nearly tagging Vritt.
Are bursts into a eerie grin that looks wrong for his face.  "Now *this* is a challenge," he says enthusiastically.

[Wei Ping]  Wei Ping keeps Are covered with the blaster, but falls into a classic Ksai stance -- ready for attack or defense.

[GM]  As Sha Ahree completes his backward movement, he notices that Are's temperature has gone up considerably during the conflict. Whatever is possessing Are is using up reserves of cellular energy at a fantastic rate.

[Bif] As "Are" stumbles back a step, Bif lowers his lightsaber to the classic neutral position.  He realizes that a lightsaber battle with "Are" will have disastrous consequences.  It is time to take this battle away from the physical and engage it on a force level.  He takes a centering breath, reaches inside for the force, and attempts to reach Joan and Are. (GM - note,  I am attempting to activate Force Harmony, & I am
spending a Force Point.)

[GM] Bif centers himself and reaches out for the Force.  At first it is difficult; his mind is racing and his blood pumping with the prospect of combat. But the voice of Vin De Boda speaks in his mind.  "Calm your feelings.  With the Force there is emotion, yet serenity."
Bif's breathing slows and a sense of peace comes over him.  With it the clear illumination of the light side.  Standing in that glow are Joan and Are, so close that Bif can barely seperate them with his Senses. They are also totally aware of him.  From this point on until the Force harmony subsides, all three will know everything that happens to any
one, and will share all surface level thoughts.
On the tarmac, "Are" hisses and takes another step back.

[Joan] Joan smiles as she joins the Light that Biff has created.  She takes  in Biff's situation instantly and hurries her trajectory even more.  No fear  -- Joan has great confidence in Biff's ability to find answers, and in his  strength as a Jedi.  She just wants to let him know that they are coming and  that he *is* supported.
[If possible (oh, great GM) Joan will pour the strength and certainty she gained from her exposure to the Light Side of the Force while at House Harkenon toward Bif.]

[OOC: Bif may take another action this round, as a reward to Sue for posting!  Remember he is down one die from bringing up a Force power, but this die is deducted from the doubling of all skill dice that happens when one uses a Force Point. (# of Dice x 2 - 1D)  So he has a better than normal chance of succeeding at whatever he wishes to do.]

[Bif] As the possessed Are steps back a step, Bif advances.  He knows now that it is not Are that he is facing.  He is confident that the light side will prevail over whatever it is possessing Are.  In fact, Bif believes that if he can just "spark" Are's body with the light, it may force the dark to abandon its possession of the body.  He is going to grab the arm with the lightsaber again.  [I am using the theory that since I was successful at Force Harmony with the incorporial Are, I have some force connection with the body of Are and can flood it with the light, much like MSF tried to flood me with the dark a round back]

[Wei Ping] Though she is confused about what is happening, it is apparent to her that everyone seems to be attacking the person with the light saber. Therefore that must be the enemy.  Wei Ping assesses the situation and decides that there are too many people involved to try taking pot shots with her blaster. A missed or deflected shot could
injure someone else. She will continue to try to close in and disarm.

[GM] At the cargo doors, DT intercepts the fleeing R4-D9.  The droid is definitely scratched but not dented.  It is, however, as close to sheer panic as DT has ever seen an Astromech droid.  R4 attempts to get past DT, but is unable to outmaneuver the tech and unwilling to run her over.
"Bleep bla do ba doo da boop whirrt screetch...!" The droid is fairly babbling, and what DT can make out is "Thrown now this... BT to maker... master insane... ambulate...!"

[DT]  "Woah, there, lil' guy.  Slow down!" DT uses her best calming voice.  "It *may* actually be that bad, but you know fer sure that panickin' ain't gonna help."  The tech rests a comforting hand on the droid's casing.  "Now, why don' you downpump yer hydro's a little, chill yer code some an' start a nice slow diag."
DT takes a deep breath to demonstrate and smiles, mostly sincerely with just the
tiniest hint of trepidation leaking through. " 'K?  Now -- let's you an' me get our cans under cover an' see if we can't make some sense outta this." DT tries to gently escort the Astromech back to her hiding place behind the crates and near the hangar door.
