Bunch of old Guys, 180 years and still chukar hunting!
** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE **
The setter pups, both less than a year old, did a hell-of-a-job! Retrievers did their job to!
You don't shoot this many chukars without exceptional dogs!
Arlington Setters and Yellow labs, only the best!
"Catch the Wave", the greatest setter I have ever seen!
He is old but has more heart than 10 young dogs. Pointed three coveys and two singles!

We have worn off 6 pads in the last three hunts. Three dogs are laid up, two of mine and one of Gabe's. No pictures of Saturdays hunt. Black cowboy kill two and that was it. Saw and heard, mostly heard, about 200-250 birds. Fog so thick you couldn't see passed 30 yards max.

Foggy Sunday and Monday so stayed home. Gabe and I went Tuesday, I killed three and he got one but we should have both had more birds, especially Gabe.

I went by myself wednesday, saw one hugh covey of 30 plus (flushed wild no shot) and three other good sized coveys. Was just me and the old setter, Catch the Wave and one Yellow lab, Drake, who did all of the retrieving. Old Wave has more "HEART" than 10 young dogs!! He is the best Setter I have every hunted over!! More brains and heat than you could imagine! What a great, great dog! Had I still been field trialing he would be an all time great Champion! He had all of the tools; brains, stamina to burn, nose, desire, natural to the front, never get lost, style running and pointing and always finds birds!

** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE ** Two of "Waves" pups first week of the new year, 2005, pointing a covey of chukars.
These pups are less than a year old and have been holding point and backing for three months now!!
All of the pups out of this breeding are doing great as well.
Hopefully we will have a new litter this spring.

Daggon, I have 5 broke saddle horses! Nice horseback ride in new country!
Unfortunately we saw more big horn sheep than we did Chukar!
The day before we saw lots, 12-15 coveys on foot, but only killed seven,
really wild flushes!
Unfortunately it is too far in to get horses and still have any dog left to hunt!
Short hour walk close to the house, Saturday morning.
waiting for my Daughter to show up from Cheney, 12/11/04

** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE ** Opening weekend 2004 Chukar season, October 3, 2004.
We probably saw over 100 birds so it was up over last year.
Weather conditions were hot and extremely dry so dog work was marginal.
We wore out two sets of dogs.
** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE ** Me and the black cowboy hit'em again.
Six for Arlington, four for The Black Cowboy (Brain Jones).
He should have limited but
he was 1 for 4 on the last two coveys and I went 4 for 4.

** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE ** The real work horses. Just puppies but boy do they have potential
and more endurance than 95% of the world's setters!
** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE ** Mom and her two pups, just like her "tough as nails" with tons of hunt.
We killed eight, 6 for Arlington and 2 for the Canadian!
I had my limit before 10:30 but forgot my digital camera.
I gave him one of mine so he and his boys could have a chukar dinner!
My pups pointed their first Chukar this hunt and I killed birds over the little female's first covey point.
She had three points and on one of them all four pups were pointing.
Momma dog is due in season any day now for a repeat breeding!
First time out of the kennel and she had three covey finds and a single and ran 1 1/2 hours.
That's, not in shape, out of the kennel, endurance and that's the kind that breeds on!

There were no bad pups in her first litter, they are all good to great with style running and pointing!

I will offer a limited number for sale out of her next litter, depending on how many she has, $600 each.

These pups are out of the two best setters I have ever seen and I have been doing this for over thirty years now. Great bird dogs, great style, great endurance, trainable and they come and go with you naturally!
