Merlin is out of ASCA/AKC Ch. Beauwood's Sierra-Echo Yogiber, STDscd, AX, AXJ, RJ-E, JJ-E, GS-O, EAC-JH, EJC-JH, OGC, JHDs, CGC, DNA-CP (Yogi) x Hearthside Too Hot to Dance (Dance). See his pedigree and family pictures. His breeder is Deb Howe of Show Me Howe. Thank-you so much to Deb for helping me to pick this adorable baby! He was born June 26, 2001, and arrived at my home on Aug. 29, 2001.

Merlin's OFA certificates show his hips are Good, and his elbows are Normal! His eyes are checked clear yearly. Merlin is also DNA-CP through ASCA.

Agility Dog!

Merlin LOVES his agility! He is a great team mate who never quits on me. He is always willing to do whatever I want him to, and is SUCH a smart boy, too!! He is a lot of fun to run, and we always have a great time together - Q or no Q!!

2004 Agility Record: Merlin earned his AKC NA, NAJ, OA, OAJ, and AXJ agility titles between Feb. and Nov. of 2004. He had a great first year of competition! I'm so proud of him!!

2005 Agility Record: Merlin completed his AKC AX and MXJ titles this year, along with 1 Double Q and 162 MACH points. He also earned 4 MX legs. We began competing in ASCA/NADAC trials this year, where Merlin completed his Novice, Open and Elite Regular (RS-N, NAC, RS-O, OAC, RS-E, EAC) titles. He also completed his Novice, Open and Elite Jumpers (JS-N, NJC, JS-O, OJC, JS-E, EJC) and his Novice and Open Gamblers (GS-N, NGC, GS-O, OGC) titles, along with one Elite Gamblers leg. It has been another wonderful year!

2006 Agility Updates: Merlin completed his NADAC Elite Chances (ECC) title, with several AKC JWW and NADAC Regular and Jumpers Qs, plus an ASCA jumpers Q. In Sept. mom ruptured 3 discs in her neck, with surgery in Oct., so no agility for 6 months! BUMMER!!

2007 Agility Updates: March 3, 2007 Our first trial out after mom's surgery last fall. We only entered Gamblers at the RAT/ASC of WA ASCA trial, so I wouldn't over do at the trial. And Merlin Qd to finish his ASCA Elite Gamblers (GS-E) title! I'm so very happy! A nice way to get back to agility. 4/29/07 What a great run in standard Merlin had at the Poodle Club trial! He earned leg 5 towards his MX, along with 13 MACH points. 5/6/07 Merlin earns leg 6 towards his MX, plus 15 more MACH points! 6/3/07 Merlin earns 2 more Elite Jumpers legs at the ZAP NADAC trial! 7/28/07 Lots of fun in our very first NADAC games at the RAT Trial! After being slightly confused over ALL the tunnels, with weave poles randomly strewn around in our first run, Merlin got the idea. He came away with one Novice Weavers leg, one Novice Touch and Go leg, and two Novice Tunnelers legs! I think the games are a hit with Merlin! :-) 8/11/07 More fun at the ZAP Games trial! Merlin finishes his Novice Tunnelers title, and adds a second Novice Weavers leg! 9/16/07 Merlin adds another Novice Touch and Go leg at the EAT trial, along with his 10th Elite Jumpers leg, to earn his Outstanding Elite Jumpers (O-EJC) title! On 9/23/07 at the Dachshund club trial (AKC), Merlin earns MX leg #7, with 13 MACH pts!! And on 10/6/07 at the Welshie trial, Merlin earns MX leg #8, with 9 MACH pts. 10/27/07 & 10/28/07 Merlin Qd in both standard runs at the Timberland Valley trials for legs #9 and #10 to complete his MX Title! I'm so happy we made it! :-) Nov. 3 & 4, 2007 Another fun weekend! This time at the Lab Club trial. Merlin had a Double Q on Sat. and another standard Q on Sun.! 11/11/07 Merlin adds another JWW Q at the Sno-King trial! 11/23/07 at the ZAP trial, Merlin had an Elite Reg. Q, an Elite Jumpers Q and a Novice Touch and Go Q to complete his TG-N Title! On 11/24/07 Merlin had another Elite Reg. Q and an extra Novice TNG Q.

Show Dog!

2007 has been a FABULOUS year in conformation for Merlin!! On June 9, 2007, at the Cascade ASC shows, Merlin was WD/BOW under breeder judge Ginger Abbott for a 3 point major! Then July 1, 2007, at the huge ASC of WA Summer Spectacular show, Merlin was again WD/BOW, this time for a 5 point major under breeder judge Pamela Nelson (see photo on right)! Then on December 2, 2007, at the ASC of BC show, Merlin went WD/BOW for 4 pts. under judge Merlin Vandekinder ~ to finish his ASCA CH!! (See picture below) I'm so VERY pleased!! Merlin took BOW each time he took WD. Thanks to all the judges who gave Merlin his wins!

Merlin passed his Herding Instinct Test on June 22, 2002. I am so proud! He sure did a great job. Thanks so much to Jen Petlig for taking the boys when we couldn't make it. It's great to have that first title! He also requalified for his HIC on Aug. 31, 2002, with pictures from that below. I think he likes the sheep!
