Well where to start. I got on the bus in '90,and have never looked back since.
The Dead were the most phenomonal band to ever set foot on a stage. The magic they
created when they played is unsurpassed. I've saw some of the alternatives since
papa jerrys' passing, and most were great, but none match a dead show. I ran into some
of teh kindest people on the planet seeing the dead. Everyone was so in tune with each
other,in tune with the music and the vibe. So since I can't jam tunes myself, the only way
I know best to do my part in keeping the spirit alive is by this page. So have a look around,
and go on my friend do anything you choose.
Lets Talk About The Boys...
Through the 30 years of touring the band saw many changes. From the warlock days, and times
at the Haight. To the tragic end of the era in '95. The original band consisted of Jerry Garcia,
Phil Lesh,Ron "pigpen" McKernan,Bill Kreutzman, and a young Bob Weir. After about two years the
band added a second drummer,Mickey Hart to the line up. Around '72 the band added pianist and organist
Keith Godchaux and his wife Donna. Also during this year they had they're first tragic loss with the
passing of pigpen. The Godchaux' eventually had their split from the band. This Opened the doors for
Brent Mydland. Who stayed with the band untill his death in '91. The band then acquired Vince Welnick,
and unofficial member Bruce Hornsby, who sat in frequently. This stayed the line up untill Jerry's
tragic passing in '95.
