Alex, a young man, meets Rose, a struggling actress. They develop a relationship, but are separated by Alex's uncle, George. Fresh from a relationship with an Italian woman, Guilietta, George and Rose fall in love. Alex finds out and outraged, visits the family. Their teen-aged daughter, Jenny, falls for Alex while Rose and Alex never manage to snuff their old flame for each other. George eventually dies and Alex finds his true love in Guilietta, leaving Rose and Jenny alone.
