Material Component: Three Nut Shells
0. Let the Mage first be proficient with Message and Suggestion, and expert in raising and directing energy.
1. He shall then select his victim.
2. Let him then enflame himself and differentiate the essence gathered into fragments. He shall gather unto himself small pockets of hate, love, anger, fear and sexual lust, keeping each distinct one from another, and sealing each one within a Nutshell.
3. Let the Mage touch his victim and discharge these pockets of energy into him simultaneously, directing them into his victim's head. This may be accomplished remotely by placing a bit of paper with the victim's name on it in various of the Nutshells, entirely at random.
4. This spell may be used to approximate the natural arising of any given emotion as well.
0. Let the Mage first be expert in raising and directing energy.
1. Let him then select his victim.
2. The Mage shall then enflame himself, and differentiate the energy into a fertile bundle of decay. The image should be of swamp water, rotting food, and thick decaying vegetation.
3. Let him touch his victim and discharge this essence into the victim, directing it to the heart.
4. This spell may be reversed by drawing diseased energy from the victim, and immediately undifferentiating it for absorption by the Mage.
Material Component: A small observation Token as in Clairvoyance or Clairaudience
0. First let the Mage be proficient with Detect Magic, ESP and Nondetection.
1. Without enflaming himself, let the Mage scan the area, sweeping his attention about himself like the ray of a lighthouse. It is absolutely vital that the Mage leave himself open to receive impressions while doing this.
2. Should the Mage receive images of eyes or ears or similar impressions of observation, let him focus his attention solely upon that image.
3. By scrying into that image, the Mage may determine both the source and location of he who spies upon him.
4. By using Nondetection he may close that conduit. By using ESP, Confusion, or Phantasmal Force he may send misleading information. By using still other spells he may actually injure he who spies upon him.
0. Let the Mage first be proficient with ESP, Spook, Forget, Misdirection and Nystul's Magic Aura.
1. Let him then select both his victim and the manner in which he wishes to manipulate his emotions.
2. Let him then enflame himself, and differentiate the essence into the semblance of the chosen emotion.
3. Let him then coalesce this essence into a sphere and pass it into his victim's body, directing it into his victim's heart.
4. The reverse of this may be used to dispel any emotion from the victim.
Material Component: A Compound of powdered lime and carbon
0. Let the Mage first be expert in raising and directing energy, and proficient with Wizard's Mark.
1. Let him then select a Weapon. This Weapon must *not* be new, but be something the Mage has owned at least a year.
2. Let him enflame himself and direct the essence into the Weapon for as long as he can maintain the current, while rubbing the Compound upon its surface.
3. The Mage should repeat this every night for one full moon, and the Weapon should never be more than five feet from his body during this time.
4. This spell may also be used on tools or implements of gaming, such as hockey sticks.
0. Let the Mage first be expert in raising and directing energy, and expert in Change Self, Vampiric Touch and Phantasmal Force.
1. Let him then select his victim.
2. The Mage will then construct in his mind an image of his victim at least five years younger than his current age, complete in all physical and mental aspects.
3. Let the Mage enflame this image as fully as possible, charging it to a higher level of energy than the victim.
4. Let the Mage then touch his victim and pass this Image onto his victim's body, surrounding it like a cloak as in Change Self. This spell may be enhanced by first using Vampiric Touch to lower his victim's resistance.
Material Component: Butter
0. Let the Mage first be familiar with Message, Wizard's Mark, and ESP.
1. Let him then select his victim.
2. He shall then proceed to open a channel to his victim and establish a rapport with him, empathizing as closely as possible with his victim's activity at the time of action. At this time the Wizard should be rubbing the butter between his fingers.
3. Let him then select a crucial moment and deliberately flub his own empathic impression of the activity so as to feel the failure himself. The Gesture is of his fingers flying apart to flick the Butter from them.
4. This may be enhanced by sending the message "Oops."
Material Component: The Eye of some raptor or predatory Beast
0. First let the Mage be proficient in Wizard's Mark, Clairvoyance and Clairaudience.
1. Then let him select a mirror, glass sphere, bowl, jewel or similar scrying device.
2. He shall then proceed to "open" the device by inscribing upon it a sign of farseeing with the Eye.
3. Let him use this device and only this device for all scrying operations, as it will improve with use.
4. This Mirror may also be used to cast spells upon a target at a distance with greater accuracy, by first observing the target before acting.
Material Component: A Bead of Jet
0. Let the Mage first be expert in his use of raising and directing energy, as well as Dispel Magic and Change Self.
1. He shall then proceed to construct about himself an aura of nonmagic as in Dispel Magic.
2. He shall then proceed to enflame this area of nonmagic as greatly as possible.
3. This spell may be maintained as long as the Mage wishes, being actually an active writing of nonmagic rather than an erasure of magic. Thus the spell effect is a positive creation and must be unmade rather than outlasted.
4. Caution in the use of this spell is of course recommended.
Material Component: A Large Acrylic Bead
0. Let the Mage first be proficient in his use of Change Self, Shield, Bind and Leomund's Tiny Hut.
1. He shall then select his victim.
2. Let him then construct about his victim an impenetrable shield attached to the victim's person, while visualizing him inside the Bead.
3. The Shield moves with the victim, although preventing the victim from accomplishing anything more than the most feeble actions.
4. This spell is actually more vile than a simple Binding, as it allows the victim the illusion of free action.
0. Let the Mage first be expert in raising and directing energy, as well as Phantasmal Force.
1. He shall then proceed to enflame himself, passing the essence gathered into his shadow.
2. This Shadow shall then be shaped according to the Mage's will and directed to go where the Mage wills it to go and do what the Mage wills it to do.
3. The Shadow may be sent forth in any shape, and may even be used to assault the Mage's victims. This is best done in conjunction with Vampiric Touch because the Shadow's connection to the Mage may be used to draw the essence back to the Mage himself.
4. Beware though that the Shadow is not consumed by a more powerful Mage, lest the Mage be compromised with regard to his personal safety.
Material Component: A bit of powdered Granite
0. Let the Mage first be expert in raising and directing energy, and also with Change Self.
1. He shall then proceed to enflame himself, directing the energy to his skin. He shall also differentiate this energy to the appearance of stone, while sprinkling the Powder over himself.
2. This process should be continued until a physical sensation is felt. This may be a tingling or numbness of the skin over the entire body, or perhaps a certain rigidity in the joints.
3. While this spell is most useful for combat purposes, it is also useful during arduous work, sports activities and adventure activities such as rock climbing.
4. Note that this spell may also be used to strengthen bones or add resilience to the sinews.
