A Working of Dominion

A Ritual to Draw Power From The Land

This ritual allows the magician to effectively "lay claim" to a piece of land, usually around his home. By bonding with the land, the magician is able to draw upon the energy of every living thing in his charge. In return, the benefits of his work are shared with every living thing in his charge.

Ingredients:

A convenient number of Wooden Stakes
The same number of Planting Pots
Mallet
Woodburner
Shovel
Plants

Directions:

Carve a symbol on each Wooden Stake to represent yourself or the overall theme of the District under your control.

For the period of one new moon to the next new moon, repeat the following:
Lay the Wooden Stakes around the circle in your working space Caste your accustomed circle, pausing at each Stake Repeat the following:

"This my circle, walls of Will
Enter nothing I deem ill
My dominion, mine alone
Stronger walls than steel or stone
Here my Will shall reign supreme
Manifest my every dream
I bind myself unto this land
Let it flourish by my Hand."

When the new moon has come around again, plant the Stakes at the border of your District.

From each site where you plant a stake, take a small amount (a fistful or so) of topsoil with you in a bag. At your home, place the topsoil in pots (with some potting soil of course) and grow plants in them for the growing season.

Keep a pitcher of water in your temple. Never remove the pitcher, but pour some out each day for watering the plants. Never empty it, but refill it each day. At the end of the growing season, take the topsoil back out to where you gathered it and bring more back from each place.

Repeat.
