Spunk and Vigor

I sit here, thinking of you and cherish each memory
remembering all the good times even some of the bad

While others may see you as frail
and getting up there in years,
I see that very special person 
with sparkle in your eyes, and laughter on your lips
I see the special sense of humor
that you so often freely give
I sense the spunk and vigor, still lurking there!

Some may say you are old and behind in the times;
but when I look in your eyes
I see wisdom at it's prime, 
knowledge at it's peak
The things you have saw and adventures you have had
make up the special person that you are!

My life is truly enriched
and my heart surely blessed
to have even a small part of your life
intertwined with mine
so each time I think of you, a smile comes to me
and another cherished memory is recalled
for all the spunk and vigor that is still lurking there!
