My
name is "Ragalong's Rainbow Maui" named after the beautiful island of Maui, HI.
No, I'm not from there but my owners love the island so much and decided
that they wanted a name for me that reminded them of their new beginning
together.
The
picture above was taken by my mistress on the day that her husband
proposed to her on the beautiful island. It had followed them all
the way from Lahina on their way into Kannapali to take a ride on the dinner
train. My mistress knew that it meant something but she wasn't quite sure
of what it could mean at the time. It ended up that after dinner my
master proposed to her, unbeknownst to her that he had planned to even
before leaving on the trip. So, they decided that if they named me Maui,
every time they called my name it would remind them of that wonderful
day. It was a beautiful day with gentle breezes blowing and the scent of
the island flowers wafting around their heads. It was perfect in every
way!
Purrrrrr-sonally, I think they're a couple of hopeless romantics. LOL
Although, I came home late in the evening on October 8, 2004 and it was
really dark.
The
next morning my mistress left her house to go shopping and as she was
pulling out into traffic she saw the most beautiful rainbow over our
house. Now, I hear rainbows are not that common in October in
Seattle so it must mean something. Like, maybe someone was saying
"Aloha Maui, Welcome to your new home". Oh My Gosh! Now I'm
starting to sound like her!
So,
as you can see, it's really rough living here. It's a difficult job
I guess, but someone has to do it. Given time, I may be able to
train these guys and whoop them into shape.
