DOGS: Seized dogs at 10 regional shelters
By Herald staff
A temporary kennel at the Benton County Fairgrounds has been shut down after all the 371 American Eskimo dogs seized from an east Kennewick breeder last week have been sent to regional shelters in Washington and Oregon.
Shelters that have received the dogs are:
— Benton-Franklin Humane Society
— Oregon Humane Society (Portland)
— Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) (Lynnwood)
— Multnomah County Animal Control
— American Eskimo Heart Bandits
— Spokane County Regional Animal Protection (SCRAPS)
— Blue Mountain Humane Society (Walla Walla)
— Humane Society for Seattle-King County (Bellevue)
Additional information can be found on The Humane Society of the United State's website at humanesociety.org. This is a separate organization than the Benton/Franklin Humane Society.
Neither the Humane Society of the United States, nor the Benton County Sheriff’s Office will be directly involved with the adoption of the dogs.
The Humane Society of the United States is not in need of donations of equipment or food, but would welcome the donation of money through the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
