                                     Dr. Acacia M. Roman Latorre was born in San Juan P.R.
                                     May 18, 1965. She moved to San Sebastian when she
                                     was 13 years old. Attended Manuel Mendez Liciaga
                                     High School and moved to Orlando FL for her senior
                                     year and graduate from Apopka High School in 1983. She
began her undergraduate studies in Valencia Community College in Orlando Fl. In
1989 she graduated from University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez with a Bachelor in
Science in Agriculture. She worked as an Animal Science specialist at Isabela Farm
Development, Inc. The following year. In 1990 she was accepted in Tuskegee
University School of Veterinary Medicine where she obtained a Doctor in Veterinary
Medicine degree in 1994. She came back to San Sebastian that year and became
part of the Hospital Veterinario Central’s team. Now Acacia balances her life as a
mother, wife and mixed practice veterinarian.

Dr. Edgardo R. Rivera Colon, DVM
                               Dr. Edgardo R. Rivera Colon was born in San Juan, PR and   
                               finished High School at the University High School in Rio          
                               Piedras. Later on he went to the University of Puerto Rico at    
                               Mayaguez where he finished a Bachelor in Science in              
                               Agriculture in 1975. That same year he moved to North
Carolina where he finished a Master of Science in Animal Science at N.C. State
University in 1977. After working for almost 3 years at he Agricultural Extension
Service in Puerto Rico, he went to Tuskegee University, School of Veterinary
Medicine to become a Veterinarian. In 1984 he finished the Doctor in Veterinary
Medicine Degree and joined the Faculty at the University of Puerto Rico in
Mayaguez. Besides teaching and Research, Dr. Rivera also devoted time to
private practice and became the local zoo Veterinarian in 1985.

People from San Sebastian told Dr. Rivera that there were no veterinarians in this
town and surrounding area. So by 1987 Dr. Rivera opened a small clinic in this
town that took care of all species, except humans. Almost 10 years later the Clinic
was moved to the present location and the named was changed to Hospital
Veterinario Central.
                                 Dr. Noelia Moyeno Rivera was born in San Juan, Puerto       
                                 Rico on May 31, 1978. She lived in Barceloneta, PR and       
                                 Brooklyn, NY during her childhood and returned to                
                                 Barceloneta, PR were she graduated from Fernando Suria    
                                 Chaves High School in 1995. Shortly after high school
graduation, Dr. Moyeno enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo and
graduated with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 1997. During
her studies at UPRA she worked for several veterinarians in the Arecibo area and
discovered a unique interest in the field of Veterinary Medicine. In 1997 she
enrolled at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK and began to study
Pre-Veterinary Sciences through the College of Animal Sciences and after two
years of undergraduate studies she was accepted in the College of Veterinary
Medical Sciences. Dr. Moyeno graduated in May 2003 from OSU with a Doctor in
Veterinary Medicine. Later that year she joined the Colorado State University,
College of Veterinary Medicine in Fort Collins, CO as a Food Animal Intern at the
Veterinary Teaching Hospital. After her one-year internship at CSU she returned
to Puerto Rico were she currently is practicing Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Noelia
Moyeno is a mixed practice Veterinarian at the Hospital Veterinario Central in the
town of San Sebastian, PR. She also joined the Biology Department Faculty at
the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo where she currently teaches
undergraduate courses within the Animal Science and Veterinary Tecnology
Program.
