I already knew how to use the Internet before taking this course, but know I am even more confident in using it. I have learned many more search engines that way I have a variety of choices so that way I can get as close to the correct information as I can. I have learned about many different web sites that could help for future needs. Without this type of knowledge one would not survive out in the business would as many careers are based around the Internet. I will more then likely be using the Internet a lot over the next couple of years throughout the rest of high school and in college for projects or just basic information that I need. Knowing my way around the Internet will help me be quicker and more precise on the information that I am obtaining.
Another important thing that I learned was creating my own web pages. I had tried this once before but now I'm better at it and have improved on making more creative and unique web pages. I know more about html coding and how it works then I had before. This will benefit me over the next couple of years because as well as being a good project for computer class, it is also a very cool hobby, while continuing on in my spare time and trying out different ideas I will become not only more familiar with making web pages, but will become more familiar with my computer as well which can't hurt, but only make my computer skills stronger and easier to use.
The final thing that will help me over the next couple of years is obtaining information, breaking it down and trying to make sense of it and put it to good use. During the course we had a lot of self learning which enabled us to work things out on our own as best we can. This will come in handy not just for computers but for many things throughout my lifetime. Many of the jobs that are out there involve creating your own ideas overcome and figure out different problems. Even though a lot of jobs are done by computers, those computers had to originally come from somewhere and somebody had to work out all the bugs and problems to begin with to make sure that computer or machine could do its job. Therefore this is an important skill which I think will help me not just over the next couple of years but for the rest of my life as well
If I were to start this course over I would not waste my time as much during class. I would take the opportunity to work for the whole period, which is what I did at the beginning of the semester, but once we changed rooms it was different. A lot of people that were not in our class started coming in every single day and that got very distracting and knocked me off track many, many times, which is partly my fault, but it still sucked. I did however learn to open up my eyes and learn to get stuff in on time or ahead of time and then if there is any time left after my work is finished then I can fool around for a bit.
