Believe it or not, my real name is Mike Klugman. The nickname "Klugo" came from
students and other teachers. It has become the name of one of the review games
we play in class and my nickname.
Who is the real Klugo?
You could find KLUGO at Hackett Middle School, located on Delaware Avenue in Albany.
There are a total of 22 buildings in the school system and a total of over 9,000 students.
Visit the Albany web page.
KLUGO teaches 7th and 8th grade science, and as of the fall of 2001, he teaches Regents level Biology (AKA The Living Environment). He does what is called looping, meaning he
teaches 7th grade one year and moves up with the same students to the 8th grade!
Check out all of the cool stuff we study.
KLUGO started the chess club at Hackett Middle School four years ago. Last year we had as
many as 55 members (out of 750 students in the school)! Chess club advisors Joe
Kruppenbacher (TOAST elementary) and John Sacca (Albany High School) have combined with
Hackett's club to make one of the strongest scholastic teams in the capital district.
