The Idea

Fatal Fury, in my opinion, is the best anime series ever created. Terry Borgard is also one of the best heroes ever born. He is the type of person everyone wishes they could be.

His friends Joe and Mai, along with his brother Andy, are the main characters throughout the series. Though other characters do come and go, such as Gesse Howard and Wolfgang Krauser, these four remain strong.

Masami O'bari is the designer/director, and you just can't help but love the cool character designs. The colors are nice and bright, and the lines are real crisp, so it's all good.

Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf

In the first movie, Terry and Andy Bogard witness their father get brutally murdered. It is from this that they pledge their talents, spirits, and lives to learning his street fighting technique and eventually avenge his death.

After ten years of this hard, intense training, they are faced with the man that killed their father, the crime lord Geese Howard. The only way they can win is for one of them to learn the Hakkyokuseiken technique. So, which one will it be?

(Okay, I'll tell you. It's Terry.)(I mean, DUH! Who else did you think it would be?

Fatal Fury: The New Battle

In the sequel to the first movie, Terry is challenged by a German nobleman by the name of Wolfgang Krauser. Unfortunately, Krauser kicks the living shit out of Terry. But what he really hurts more than his body is Terry's pride, and he immediately starts 'healing' himself with the bottle. Two nobody's are actually able to take him on one night; Terry is too wasted to beat even them.

Essentially, Terry just kind of gives up on life.

A new character, a young boy named Tony, is introduced in this movie. Tony is kind of a muse to Terry, though Terry is also a god in Tony's eyes, and helps Terry slow recover.

Mia and Joe don't really have very big roles in this film, however. They're just kind of there. Joe ends up in the hospital and Mia gets her ass kicked in a battle of her own.

There's a lot of ass kicking in this one.

Andy, however, helps Terry learn a new technique when the two square off to see who should be the one to go face Krauser. It is with this new Power Geyser technique that enables Terry to beat Krauser.

Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture

This film is my favorite of the three. I can't explain why, but it is. I first saw it during Anime Week on the SciFi Channel, and the next day I immediatly went out and bought the whole set. I just fell in love with it the instant I saw it.

The idea in this story revolves around a mystical piece of weaponry called the 'Armor of Mars'. It has six seperate pieces, and legend says that anyone who wears all of the pieces will wield unimaginable and unbeatable powers.

Laocorn Gaudeamus, a direct descendant of the armor's orginal owner has already found three of the pieces by the time the movie has begun, and is hot on the trail of the remaining pieces. Laocorn's twin sister, Sulia, finds and begs Terry to stop her brother's mad quest before he destroys himself. her brother's power-mad questÉ before he attains the power of a god!

Mia, Joe, and Andy have much bigger roles in this movie. Mia and Andy finally get together in this film, and I must say that they do make the cutest couple.

Even cuter, however, are Terry and Sulia. Terry learns to forgive himself for the death of lily and gradually put the past behind him. Unfortuatly for him, the past does repeat itself, although this time he is able to not blame himself.

If you only see one of the three movies, YOU MUST SEE THIS ONE! It's one of the best movies I've seen in my life.
