The Black River Aquarium Society, Inc. meets on the 4th Friday of the month at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Nichols Street, Rutland, Vermont at 7:30 PM. The meetings are open to the public and there is no charge to attend. The meetings include guest speakers, audio-video presentations, bowl show and auction. The club sponsors collecting trips to local sites and field trips to aquarium points of interest. The club sponsors "Summer in Vermont", a special presentation and auction in August and publishes a monthly newsletter, The Tropical Herald. Black River Aquarium Society is a member of the Northeast Council of Aquarium Societies. Past nationally known speakers at our meetings have included Lee Finley, Al Castro and Tom Neal. The club has been active with presentations on the local cable access television stations.
Meetings for 1997- September 19, October 24, November 21 ( note change in the date due to Thanksgiving). No December meeting but there will be a Christmas party with the date announced.
