Rehabilitation Sermon:

Love

Hope

Charity

Jesus is Lord

Longsuffering is a blessing. Jesus Christ provides longsuffering as a gift for you.

It is better to give than to receive. So then are you, the reader, supposed to give not only suffering, but longsuffering to others. Yes.

So then for instance, if you want to help your friend, what longsuffering could and should you provide to your friend that they should endure?

You decide.

You can pray to God and ask God in prayer; just the same way I can pray.

We are in this together. We help each other.

I shouldn't just tell you what to do. That's not friendship and love. That's just authority.

You are already longsuffering. How are you going to share a thing like that for any good purpose? How can you help by creating longsuffering for others?

How can you help glorify God by causing longsuffering?

The life of Jesus Christ provides a good example for us. Jesus Christ suffered people to learn of God's ways. Jesus Christ had steadfast work. After Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross, Jesus Christ rose and lived on, and walked with some Christians, and continued steadfastly to teach them; just as he had done before being crucified.

Jesus Christ suffered the cross and was not bitter toward others. Just the opposite. Jesus Christ longsuffered and worked to help the people of his flock so that no one was left without sufficient understanding to advance toward heaven according to their own individual choice and activity.

Jesus Christ allowed and helped people aspire toward heaven and helped people motivate themselves to work constantly with full mind and body to reach heaven.

You can give your life, as Jesus Christ has done. You have the power, as does each and every other person who has been instructed of Jesus Christ.

You can give your life as a gift to others. You can do this longsuffering as an example for others.

When you eat a candybar, do you do it for yourself? Or do you do it to help please someone else?

When you mow your lawn, do you do it for yourself? Or do you do it to for your neighbors; to please them?

When you buy and own a house, do you do it for yourself? Or do you do it for the benefit of your nation, and for the benefit of all people?

When you suffer, for whom do you do it?

What reward do you seek?

Do you fear people, or do you fear God?

Do you constantly want to get away from it all: the fear, the pressure, the anxiety? Or do you want to be a part of it all: respected and leading others along the good and righteous path?

Your spirit mingles with the Holy Spirit. Your spirit...you...your friends...your family...each and every aspect of what makes you you, is in part and in whole very valuable.

You have a purpose in life...a greater purpose than you've ever known.

Christians have said:

..."that they might hope for those things which they have not seen."

"Wherefore, by faith was the law of Moses given. But in the gift of his Son hath God prepared a more excellent way; and it is by faith that it hath been fulfilled."

..."if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith."

"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdest thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not."

When you play, do you play to win? Or do you play to help others?

When you play to win, do you play to win to feather your own bed? Or do you play to win to help others?

For whom do you lose? For whom do you win?

Do you serve greed or do you serve God? Do you work so you can vacation? Or do you vacation so you can work to help others have enriched lives? ...so that they might better enjoy freedom and privileges, and so that you and they might better be inclined to follow Jesus Christ? ...so that through Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ might agree with you...for the greater glorification of God...so that eye to eye, you might see God.

Who do you respect? What works do you respect? By their fruits you shall know them. By their gifts you shall understand.

By your longsuffering people will know you. By your good decisions, by your good faith in Christ, out of your bossom shall flow rivers of living water.

Do you dwell on suicide, or do you dwell on pleasing God? Do you dwell on the easy way out, or do you dwell on charity? Are you reckless, or can others depend on you?

Do you have what it takes, or do you just take?

Do you create or destroy?

You are of great value. You have many talents. You have the ability to LOVE! And you also have the ability to love more deeply.

You have the ability to have faith in Jesus Christ!

You have the ability to mentally follow goodness, kindness, mercy, and charity.

You have the ability to be more valuable through Jesus Christ.

Many things happen to you. Some happen outside of your body and affect you. Some happen within your mind.

You were you then, you are you now. You are not in need of rehabilitation, you are already rehabilitated. Jesus Christ has already died for your sins and Jesus Christ lives and loves you.

Even the law declares we are all created equal. Things can happen to you (from without or from within), but you are still you.

You know how to make decisions, you know how to love.

As you live and breathe, you think, whether you're aware of it or not. You are you. By definition rehabilitation is to restore to former capacity, to restore to good repute. You know right from wrong as you always have. You are as good as you've always been. You are so close to God and perfection there is almost no other consideration.

You are, for lack of a better word, good!

Jesus Christ taught that goodness can only come from goodness. And you have, as you've always had, the ability to love.

You are restored whole. You are rehabilitated. You are good. You are you, and you are love, because God made you and as you may have heard before "God don't make no junk."

In other words, God only makes perfection. And the sooner you realize that (for the benefit of others / for the greater glory of God through Jesus Christ), the better off you'll be.

You have what it takes, in terms of that which is most precious and valuable. You have the unhindered ability to love God through Jesus Christ. Dwell on this.

You have what it takes to give to help others. You have what it takes to be unselfish.

That which is most important: you can do it.

How will you go about it? One step at a time. Maybe your steps are smaller than other steps, maybe larger, maybe similar. And every step is a new beginning, a new and greater adventure.

You and I together, let's think this prayer: God our Father in heaven, thank you for being holy. Thank you for being so perfect that even your name is hallowed. Thank you for having a Son so perfect that men call him Master and adore him above all others. Thank you that Jesus Christ is more blessed in your holy presence than we can imagine.

Thank you good God almighty that Jesus Christ taught us. Thank you that you see eye to eye with Jesus Christ and have complete agreement with the Holy Spirit. Thank you for providing people with souls. Thank you for your tender mercy.

Thank you that we realize our sins and desire to better ourselves according to your perfect plan.

Thank you for hearing our prayer. Thank you for giving us crumbs. Thank you for giving us mansions unimaginable. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for our loved ones, and thank you for your guidance. Thank you dear Lord for putting up with us, and thank you for providing for us gifts untold.

Thank you for this opportunity to reach out to others in need. And thank you for our desire to help others.

Lord God almighty, you are so much more excellent, you are so gracious, you are so giving, you give us so much to do; thank you.

God, please increase our burdens so we may do much more, for your greater glory through Jesus Christ your beloved Son.

God, please help us ask not for our own sakes, but for the sakes of others.

God, please help us move our finger toward yours, that we might touch the ground on which you walk, and that we might more clearly realize the beauty of your plan.

Thank you good God for your grace, more precious than odds, or gold, or jewels, or silk.

Thank you good God for your grace, more precious than winnings, or chances, or trophys.

Thank you good God for making us a part of your perfect plan.

Thank you good God for having confidence in us; for investing in us; and for using us to leverage your people to work together to follow you.

Thank you good God we pray because you first loved us.
