CANDIDATE'S STATEMENT
Age: 59
Occupation: School business consultant with the Los Angeles County Office of Education
My career spans 35 years of public service, including 26 years with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, where I have been responsible for reviewing all Los Angeles County school district budgets in the greater Whittier area. My experience also includes the Los Angeles Unified School District, the largest public school system in the State.
I know when a school budget is fiscally responsible and in compliance with State requirements, when resources are spent for the benefit of students, and when projections for future budgets are sound.
I have identified many budget weaknesses and helped guide troubled districts back to fiscal health. I will help keep East Whittier City School District financially strong and protect your taxpayer dollars.
My purpose in seeking election is to bring a new dimension to the District, to share financial experience, and to promise a dedication to the duty that voters would entrust in me.
My family and I have grown up in the East Whittier City School District. We are proud of its reputation for student achievement and financial stability.
I support teachers and want to be part of East Whittier City School District’s continued success and heritage.
