Ok, this is a poem I found one day while scanning a literature book. Eugene Fields wrote it to portray the death of a child, and when I read it, I completely saw James. Because the child in this poem evidently died in his sleep, I did "modify" the fifth and sixth lines of the second stanza to better fit the circumstances behind James's death. Here goes:

Little Boy Blue

The little toy dog is covered with dust
But sturdy and staunch he stands;
The little toy soldier is red with rust,
And his musket moulds in his hands.
Time was when the little toy dog was new,
And the soldier was passing fair;
And that was the time when our Little Boy Blue
Kissed them and put them there.

"Now don't you go till I come back," he said,
"And don't you make any noise!"
So, toddling off to his trundle bed,
He dreamt of the pretty toys;
*But the next day came, and a horrible fate
**Stole away our Little Boy Blue-
Oh! the years are many, the years are long,
But the little toy friends are true!

Aye, faithful to Little Boy Blue they stand,
Each in the same old place,
Awaiting the touch of a little hand,
The smile of a little face;
And they wonder, as waiting the long years through
In the dust of that little chair,
What has become of our Little Boy Blue,
Since he kissed them and put them there.

*And, as he was dreaming, an angel song
**Awakened our Little Boy Blue

Finally! Someone with James poems! This young man has sent me two of his tributes to James, which I have found to be very sweet and admirable. It's good to know others are so moved to create their own literary pieces for James.

Jamie

The rich loving sparkle
Coming from a child's eye
Made his soul-taking angel
Lay back and just cry.
God said it was Jamie's time
And God's word was all.
It makes you wonder if there really is a God at all

Or maybe the Devil's game
And it was his turn
To posses these two heartless children
And take all they have learned.

About love and the precious
Meaning of life
The Devil chose for these demons
To sacrifice
The only son a loving family had
Had to be taken by an angel
So cold and so sad,
This story may be but the fact is it's true
Young Jamie, the boy who never saw his dreams come true
Has been taken away
This sad fateful day
So Jamie, the world now prays only for you.

If I Had A Time Machine

If I had a time machine
I'd go back and save young James
I feel this is the most important thing
In history to change

To allow him have the same life
All youngters ought to have
And to save the shock the nation was in
And make the world feel less sad

To allow young James to have the best
To let him accomplish his dreams
A such short life that has gone to waste
That needed not, it seems

To allow young James to play with toys
To feel loved by his very own best friend
To sing out loud and play child games
Like hop-scotch or Lets Pretend

To allow him to grow up and learn about life
And what a wonderful precious gift it is
If I had a time machine
All this to James I'd give

But I do not have a time machine
So James I cannot save
But thoughts of him remain with me
And memories never fade

This lady sent me this poem earlier today, and I found it positively beautiful. It really gives us an outlook on how we can truly see James' new life as being. Thank you, Shelley!

James Poem

My name is James
I am forever two
I have golden blonde hair
And eyes of blue
I skip to my song
And sing my own tune
My angel friends play
All afternoon
We jump in the clouds
And hop over the sun
Through the stars
Fast I run
We play hide n seek
My turn now
Don't anyone peek
My endless journey
So happy and free
I run through rainbow fields
And climb golden trees
I stop for a second
To see who's going to come
I look down below
To see everyone
I see pain and I have some concern
But God reassures me
"You need time to learn."
I turn to him and ask him why
I dont like to see my mummy cry
He says, "My child,
I have never lied.
They dont understand,
Your soul never died."
So I continue my journey
Way up high
Please remember, I'm happy
My soul is alive.

Another James poem came to me a few days ago, and from a woman who has been most patient in waiting for me to finally getting around to posting it =) It's beautiful, yet another written in James' perspective, which are my favorite type.

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard His call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I have found peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Dont lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your head and share with me,
God wanted me now; He set me free

These next few song lyrics were sent to me from Ashley T. Enjoy reading the words, as they speak volumes. Because of space I could only enter two songs, but the other two that reminded Ashley of James are "Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek" and "Hanson - I Will Come to You".

Hilary Duff - Someone's Watchin Over Me (for James' mother)

I found myself today
Oh, I found myself and ran away
But something pulled me back
Voice of reason, I forgot I had
All I know, is you're not here to say
What you always used to say
But its written in the sky tonight

[chorus]
So I wont give up
No, I wont break down
Sooner than it seems, life turns around
And I will be strong
Even if it all goes wrong
When Im standing in the dark, Ill still believe
Someones watching over me

Ive seen that ray of light
And its shining on my destiny
Shining all the time
And I wont be afraid
To follow everywhere its taking me
All I know is
Yesterday is gone
And right now I belong
To this moment, to my dreams

It doesnt matter what people say
And it doesnt matter how long it takes
Believe in yourself
And youll fly high
And it only matters how true you are
Be true to yourself and follow your heart

That I wont give up
No I wont break down
Sooner than it seems, life turns around
And I will be strong
Even when it all goes wrong
When Im standing in the dark, Ill still believe
That someones watching over
Someone's watching over
Someone's watching over me
(Yeah yeah, oh oh)
Someone's watching over me

Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men - One Sweet Day

Sorry I never told you, all I wanted to say
And now it's too late to hold you
Cause you've flown away, so far away

Never had I imagined, living without your smile
Feelin, knowin' you hear me
It keeps me alive, alive

And I know you're shining down on me from heaven,
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together (together)
One sweet day
I'll wait patiently to see you in heaven.

Darlin' I never showed you (no no no)
Assummed you'd, always be there
And I, I took your presence for granted
But I always cared (I always cared)
And I miss the love we shared

And I know you're shining down on me from heaven,
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together (together)
One sweet day

Although the sun will never shine the same
I'll always look to a brighter day

Yeah Yeah and Lord I know when I lay me down to sleep
You will always listen as I pray

This is a beautiful poem written by Daniela =) Thanks so much for sending it.

For James Bulger...

Bless you lil soul,
your an angel forever,
as light as a feather.
For that terrible day fabruary 93,
shall never go by without me whipping a tear.
You went through so much fear.
Look down on mummy,
Look down on daddy,
for you shall always be loved by them and I
Oh why did you have to die?

~Daniela~

Heather sent me this poem around two months ago, and I'm ashamed to say I'm just now getting it up. Thanks so much Heather.

Shattered trust

Earth stood still for you that day
So the angels could come and take you away
You went too soon into their care
But you will be happy now that your there

They held out their arms so you could take hold
And took you to heaven like they had been told
Now no more tears or hurt you will know
Youll forever be smiling where ever you go

A happy little boy by the name of James
Was invited to heaven to share in some games
Full of laughter, happiness and fun
We know god has a much beloved son

In heaven there'll be lots of girls and boys
Who will happily share with you all their toys
Youll make new friends and play together
Running and chasing with them forever

A happy little boy so full of sprite
But you leaving us does'nt seem right
Everyone's missing you and wish you were here
But while you are there you have nothing to fear

James i saw a photo of you today
What a beautiful boy heaven recieved that day
A beaming big smile from such a wonderful boy
May heaven now bring you nothing but joy

Heaven now will be your new home
Not a day will go by that youll be alone
You are safe with god and the angels too
They are there watching over you

I have family and friends in heaven too
And i know someday ill join them and you
So please reserve a spot for me
Casue your the first person i want to see

I want to tell you im sorry for, well you know, back when
But you thought you made two new friends back then
I know these boys thought nothing else mattered
Im so sorry James that your trust had been shattered

I received this Steven Curtis Chapman song from Angie V. She thought it would be a good tribute to James, and I agree.

With Hope

That is not at all how
we thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
we had so many dreams
And now you’ve gone away
and left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
and nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
the pain of losing you

We can cry with hope
we can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end
We can grieve with hope
because we believe with hope
There’s a place where we’ll see your face again
We’ll see your face again

Never have I known
anything so hard to understand
Never have I questioned more
the wisdom of God’s plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father smile and say well done
And I imagine you
where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
'Cause now you’re home and now you’re free

We can cry with hope, we can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end
We can grieve with hope, because we believe with hope
There’s a place where we’ll see your face again
We’ll see your face again

We have this hope like as an anchor
'Cause we believe that everything God promised us is true

So we can cry with hope, we can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end
We can grieve with hope, because we believe with hope
There’s a place
By God’s grace
There’s a place where we’ll see your face again
