Requirements For Play

Appearance


  • Their exoskeleton is hard like a diamond. The build is lighter for Myrmidon which can fly.

  • They look like a bipedal (upward spine) bug. It can be any bug that has a shell-like skin (ants, beetles, cockroaches, etc.); or any bug that can fly (bees, crickets, etc.) No bugs allowed that have soft/gel like bodies (worms, slugs, moths, snails.)

  • The only thing humanoid about the Myrmidon is that they are bipedal. All other features should be bug-like for continuity. We have the right to refuse any submissions that don't properly fit this race, and will help aid you in correctly adjusting it.

  • The mouth will be bug-like, not humanoid. They often have mandibles, double-jointed jaws, fangs, etc.

Though you can't really tell their age by appearance.

Race Perks


  • Doubled VIG or AGL (player's choice) at Registration

  • +30 natural AP (armor absorption) at registration for durable exoskeleton.

  • +4 Running OR +4 Flight (if a flying type), +2 Intimidation, +2 Timidity, +2 Smell

  • +5 LP per level

  • Elemental Immunity against Dark & Earth magic.

  • +1 to Init rolls due to heightened awareness of surroundings.

  • Resistant to disease. Resistant to poison (half the effect/time range.)


Race Drawbacks


  • No higher than 2 max Sight, Hearing, and Charisma at registration.

  • Defined as a 'beast creature' and non-humanoid.

  • Elemental Weakness to Ice & Light magic.

  • +3 DMG from blunt weapons.

  • Requires twice the effort toward non-Myrmidon NPCs to negotiate with them or gain their trust. Most races find Myrmidon barbaric and grotesque, especially due to eating their dead.

  • Can only wear customized special armor (created by players with the skill.)

Pregnancy

To Procreate, Partner Must Be:
Humanoid or Myrmidon. Age of maturity is considered 18 AY.

Eggs are carried for 1 month (considered the 'pregnancy period'), then laid in the Myrmidon's nest and tended for 1 more month, before they hatch. Due to the harshness of life on this race, pregnancy is only allowed once per IC year. 

On a d100 roll (pregnancy):
100 One Egg
90-99 Two Eggs
70-89 Three Eggs
40-69 Four Eggs
10-39 Five Eggs
2-9 Six Eggs
1 is Twelve Eggs

Gender (d2 roll):
1 = Female
2 = Male

Child’s race:
If parents are same race, the child will be that race.

If parents are each a different (but full blooded) race, the child will be half of each race.

If one or both parents are a half-race, the GM will have each parent roll d2 to determine which half from each parent they’ll be.


Race Skills

Natural

Natural skills will be available to your character upon registration and don't need SP to unlock, but SP can be used to make some stronger.

Spend SP to unlock skills or make them stronger.


Eagle Vision (Sight): Double the distance seen when flying if nothing obstructs view.
Detect Poison (Scent): You can taste it on your tongue just by smelling it.
