Description

They are the most abundant race in the world, even despite nearly getting wiped out after the Human Age. Perhaps the least powerful in ways of natural ability, they still manage to gain power outside of themselves in the way of culture and allies. When there is a threat, they can band together to form a unity of strength unlike many other races. Humans research and build to their heart's content, inventing ways to change the world with each new generation. Other races typically don't underestimate the 'weak' human race, since they've proven their own capabilities to survive and conquer.

Requirements For Play

Appearance

  • Typical human appearance only.

  • Males tend to be slightly taller and larger than females on average. Facial hair is common unless you are rich or in a position of power.

  • Women rarely wear pants, which is deemed inappropriate, nor do males wear skirts/dresses. That's not to say these things never happen however.

  • Humans are known for their accessorizing. Hats, cuffs, scarves, jewelry, buttons, belts, coats, coat of arms, etc. are almost always present on human's attire. Even the poor often have some sort of token on them, such as a handkerchief or family emblem.

Age Ratio

(HY indicates physical appearance, AY is how long they have lived.)

1 HY : 1 AY
Lifespan of around 60 AY
Mortal

Race Perks

  • Doubled INF at Registration

  • 1 extra SP each level

  • +2 Swimming, +2 Intimidation, +2 Charisma, +2 Timidity

  • Halved difficulty for any rolls involving interactions with other humans or elves, such as influence, charm, bartering, etc.

  • 10% off anything in Tandora's market.

  • +1 to hit with any steel weapons.

  • Halved difficulty when attempting to capture and/or tame agricultural or pet animals with the appropriate skill. GM Discretion. One per quest/event.

Race Drawbacks

  • Magic Poisoning - Humans are unable to properly tap into magic, born without that core and tie to it like other races. If their MP every drops to less than 15 in battle or quests/events, they will fall unconscious, regaining 5 MP per turn until they are back at 15 and can awaken. If they have less than 15 permanent MP at any time, they are restricted from using magic at all.

  • They have a bigger chance of failure when using magic; items or casting. So for any roll, 1-4 will be an auto-fail or miss.

  • Other races believe humans are weak (despite their accomplishments) so when negotiating with a non-human race, it will take extra persuasion (a successful INF roll, bribery, a feat of strength, etc.) to get what you want. GM Discretion.

  • Any roll to avoid illness or poison will be cut in half (making it twice as likely the human will be affected.)

  • Maxed VIG and AGL of 25.

Pregnancy

To Procreate, Partner Must Be:
Humanoid. Age of maturity is considered 18 AY.

On a d100 roll (pregnancy):
80-100 Unsuccessful
20-79 One Child
1-19 Twins

Gender (d2 roll):
1 = Female
2 = Male

Child’s race:
If parents are same race, the child will be that race.

If parents are each a different (but full blooded) race, the child will be half of each race.

If one or both parents are a half-race, the GM will have each parent roll d2 to determine which half from each parent they’ll be.
