Kayleigh looked in the mirror in the bathroom at herself. She blinked, her aloof green eyes, staring into her rather pretty reflection. She sighed, and put her dirty blonde hair behind her ears. She slowly opened the door knob, turning it and pushing on the door, and stepping out into the silent hallway. It reminded her of a library. The blur of the TV made images in her mind, fooling her, haunting her. She walked into the living room, seeing Tony, who had now taken over the bag of chips which sat 1/4 full on his lap.
"Hey" He said.
"Hey" she said back, as she walked past, into her room. "Billy?" It was quiet. The Simple Plan CD droned on and on.
I'm just a kid and my life is a nightmare....
True, she thought as she sat on her pink-clad bed and realized Billy was asleep, snoring peacefully, his skinny arm dangling off the edge, his knuckles just touching the beige carpet. She felt his forehead and sighed, pulling the blanket over his body, making sure he wasn't cold.
"Oh, Billy..." She shook her head. "Next time, turn the CD player off..."
"Yah, no kidding. That stuff's crap" Kayleigh turned around at the sound of Tony's voice.
"I thought you were going to be nice now," Was her comment.
"Well I can't be nice if you listen to crap" He said, walking inside the room. He took the Simple Plan CD out and replaced it with a CD Kayleigh'd never seen before. He saw her face. "Rancid" He told her, pressing play.
"Don't turn it too loud. I don't want to wake Billy up"
"K" He turned it down a bit more.
"K, let's get out now" She said, walking past Tony-glancing back at Billy who was still sound asleep- and out the door. "Wanna watch "Dude Where's My Car?"
"Yeh." He said shrugging. "'S something to do" Although they both liked the movie, they both liked it for different reasons. Tony, simply because he thought it was kinda funny in a really retarded way and Kayleigh because she thought Ashton Kutcher was hot.

"Huh?" Two hours later, Billy woke up with a headache. "What kinda loud music is that!?" He listened to it a bit longer. "Actually, I kinda like it..."

Billy walked out into the living room to find Tony and his sister watching a movie together.
"Hey, who's CD's on in my room?"
"Rancid" Tony said.
"I like it" Said Billy.
"Sweet" Tony nodded his head like the guys in pimped-out rap-video cars. He looked at his watch. "5:27..." He said. Kayleigh glanced at the time on the DVD player.
"Tony, your watch is an hour behind. It's 6:27." She pointed out.
"Oh." Said Tony. "Well, ok"
"Yah, that's what I thought" Everybody looked at Billy, who turned red and smiled, waving at them. "Yo." He said. "Sup?"
"You thought what?" Tony asked as Kayleigh laughed.
"I thought that your watch was an hour behind..." He said simply.
"What he meant was nothing." Kayleigh explained. "He just says that randomly."
"Oh." Tony said. "Random, huh?"
"Yah." Billy said, nodding. "Randomness rules, ok. Don't mock me" He folded his arms.
"Billy no one's mocking you." Kayleigh said. "Yet..."
"Nice." Said Billy. "Yet, huh?"
"Yahuh" Kayleigh replied, brushing her hair with her fingers. Billy marveled at the fact that her hair was so long....and soft. He reached out and stroked it. "Um Billy...what are you doing...?"
"Your hair is so pretty..." He sighed, and for a second his sister wondered if he hada crush on her. Then, yanking a strand of hair and laughing hysterically, he ran off and hid around the corner, out of breath.
"What the hell!?" Kayleigh shrugged at Tony's remark.
"I don't know." She said. "But knowing Billy it's probably something really dumb..."
