"Rukawa is truely strong."

Anzai about his team:
"You are the strongest."

Main character Yusuke dies in a car accident but his death is unexpected by
the Spiritual World Reikai, in other words: he wasn't meant to die.
So he gets another chance as Reikai's detective. Along with his friend Kuwabara and
the demons and former enemies Kurama and Hiei,
Yusuke fights to protect the human world from evil demons.

This anime provides great martial art fights and unexpected plot twists. And there are all kind of characters: Yusuke is the fresh, noisy, jolly-go-lucky but kindhearted guy. Kuwabara is the simple-minded, stubborn but friendly and loyal friend. Kurama has more identities and a dark past, this handsome guy is the intelligent strategist. Hiei also has a dark past, he seems rude and mean, but this cool guy definitely has his heart in the right place. (One of my favorit anime of all time)

In the year 2000, the world nearly ended when a meteor struck Antarctica in the event known as the "Second Impact" , named so after the event when a meteor from space struck the Earth and exterminated the dinosaurs more than 65 million years ago. This " Second Impact" catastrophe unbalanced the Earth's axis and melted the polar caps, flooding coastlines and causing climatic change throughout the world that wiped out half of the human race within a year...in other words, the long awaited event known as the Apocalyspe, or The End of the World

Fast forward 15 years later, in 2015, rising out of a completely devastated planet Earth, Mankind battles against an inhuman enemy, known only as ANGELS, mysterious creatures armed with fantastic and magical powers. Three young EVA pilots, all 14 years old, and the mysterious organization known as NERV is all that stands between the survival of Mankind.....and the FINAL judgement from God.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a very complex story. A young boy name Shinji is summoned by his father to be part of a plan to save Tokyo 3 from Angel attacks. Rei and Asuka are also Eva pilots. They are trying to protect the planet from the Third impact. It is a complex story full of emotions and feelings. What is right and what is wrong? It is a story that will draw in, in no time. Each character has something that is unique and a different view on all things. You follow the battles from one Angel to the next. The personal lives of each of the people as they see what is going on. It is truly a good show. One that is well worth watching many times. (One of my favorite anime of all time)

Rurouni Kenshin is, I feel, THE best anime ever. The storyline is incredible and in depth. The character designs and personalities are incredible, which make them well rounded and realistic. In this anime there are many real life issues and situations. This gives the anime a realistic feel. The philosophies, ideas, and character backgrounds, are so realistic that you can see them happening in real life. Rurouni Kenshin is a must see for anyone.
The story centers on the life of Himura Kenshin, a rurouni (wandering samurai). During the end of the Tokugawa era and the resulting civil war, Kenshin was known as the Hitokiri Battousai. As the Hitokiri (assassin or man-slayer), Kenshin fought for the the Ishinshishi revolutionaries. After the war, Kenshin realized that he killing people meant ending countless dreams. To atone, Kenshin became rurouni and vowed never to kill again. With his sakabatou (reversed edged sword) and Hiten Mitsuruugi Ryu (Kenshin's sword style), Kenshin wanders around Japan protecting the innocent. (One of my favorite anime of all time)

Four hundred years ago in the time of feudal Japan, the Hokage ninja clan face total destruction, through forbidden magic a mother sends her baby to safety 400 yrs into the future. Meet Hanabishi Recca, a teenager who has a fascination for all things ninja. He spends his days practicing his ninja skills, and fighting the school tough guy Domon, until his life takes a sudden twist when he almost dies and is saved by a girl, Yanagi-chan. She ends up becoming his "hime" (princess) as he takes a vow to serve and protect her as her ninja. Soon afterward he is visited by a mysterious woman bearing gifts of elemental power. Then his test of strength and courage really begins as he and his companions are pitted against other elemental masters who are bent on destroying them.

With lightning quick determination and a flame that burns the darkest of foes, Recca stands beside his fighting companions to solve the puzzles of the past , while battling those who would bear ancient elemental weapons against them. Littered with colorful characters, charismatic villains, and gut splitting humor, Flame of Recca delivers one scorcher of a story.

Gundam Wing begins in the era of A.C. (After Colony - after the creatio n of space colonies inhabited by humans). War is constant on Earth, while the space colonies live in relative peace. The wars on earth finally ended in or about 175 A.C. At this point, the Earth government established the "Earth Sphere Unified Alliance". This organization was to promote peace on Earth and throughout the space colonies. Unknown to the general public, the Alliance was only a puppet for the industrialist group, The Romefeller Foundation.

In the name of peace, the Alliance's Army, known as "OZ", seized control of all space colonies and crushed all oppositions with mech-like fighting machines known as Mobile Suits (MS). After two decades of oppression, a group of rebels amongst the space colonies decided to show that they will not tolerate the iron grip of the Earth Alliance any further. With the help of the 5 scientists who first developed the MS, the rebels created five super fighting MS machines, known as Gundams. However, no ordinary pilots can control these machines due to their advanced technology. Therefore, 5 children were adopted and traine

d from a very young age with each having very distinct personalities.

Their mission, destroy the Earth Alliance.

Every year, thousands of hopeful people from all around the world come to take a long and arduous exam to become hunters. Hunters have many privileges and are highly respected, but rarely does anyone actually pass the exam. Gon is a young boy whose father is a legendary hunter, but whom Gon has never met. He believes that the only way to meet his father is to follow in his footsteps, and he is determined to pass the exam.

It is rare that an anime can go on as long as Hunter X Hunter and do so without dragging or becoming repetitive. This anime, however, not only pulls it off but also had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

This series truly does it all. Whether you want comedy, psychological introspect or insane Dragonball Z-style fights, it's all here. These differing themes seem to be distributed rather unequally, though. One arc may be lighthearted and the next dark and dismal. As a result, the overall quality of the series varies.

With four main characters and countless supporting ones, there is never a dull moment in Hunter X Hunter; it is constantly throwing new situations and characters. Before long, this became a problem. I often felt that the show simply threw too much at me at once. There are just too many characters to keep track of, and the show jumps around between them too often. Fortunately, character development was done right. The main characters, in particular Kurapica and Killua and with exception to Gon, unravel and show a deep side to their personalities.

In the animation department, fans of Yu Yu Hakusho will feel at home as both series' were created by Togashi Yoshihiro. The art isn't particularly impressive and looks like something from ten years ago, but it works. The great music and voice acting help, as well.

My opinion of Hunter X Hunter went up and down several times throughout the series, but overall the pros outweigh the cons. Bottom line: this is a highly entertaining title and a must see for action fans.
