The Lottery

written by charish

The lottery is offically closed now for the next couple of weeks. It will be moving to a new location during this time. The winner has been picked. I will not announce the winners name until I have gotten in contact with the winner, so that their prize of 15,000 coins will be safely banked before any thieves out there get any ideas. Hope you come and play after the move!

CROSSES: An increasing concern for newly initiated Vampires

submitted by, Hema

It’s the summer time again, and as we all have noticed, the number of humans wandering the city is at it’s peak. As the biting rate increases, the vampire population itself in the city steadily rises. Yes, we may regard these humans merely as blood filled morsels, but please take in to consideration that once bit, these humans will soon transition into the world of the undead and stalk the city with their fellow vampires.

With this said, I would like to point out a particular problem that I have observed while wandering the city. As you may notice, many humans like to wear jewelry of all sorts, and some types can be of a particular nuisance to a newly awakened vampire. Crosses seem to be around many a human’s neck these days, whether it be because of religion or the heightened vampire paranoia that comes with summer. For whatever reason they are worn, however, proves to serve no purpose once they are bit.

We would like each new vampire member of the city to be welcomed into the ranks of the undead as pleasantly as possible. Waking to find yourself penniless with a pain in your neck is enough, but waking to an excruciating burning sensation on your person due to a cross necklace/bracelet that was valued in your human life is unnecessary suffering.

Recent studies from the University of Transylvania has shown that vampires who have experienced this sort of pain from cross jewelry during their birth into the vampiric realm are more likely to become “rogue” vampires; wandering clanless and often displacing their anger on other vampires by randomly dousing them with Holy Water. Studies also show that these vampires are likely to remain without childer.

One of the vampires tested states the long-term embarrassment of dealing with the permanent scar that is left once a human awakens to become a vampire when he was wearing a cross necklace: “It was never a real problem to me until I got older and wanted to acquire powers. I was on my Stamina One quest, and was nearly finished...(he chokes back a sob)...when they opened my cloak, they saw the burn mark and started laughing at me. I never got Stamina One, but they still took my money and my blood. I doubt I’ll ever get Stamina.” When asked if he has splashed innocent vampires with Holy Water he said, “Yes. I’m sorry, though”. Because of obvious reasons, this vampire wishes to remain anonymous.

So please, if among your hunting in the city you notice a human who is wearing a cross necklace, or any type of jewelry that is a nuisance to vampires, please do your best to remove the jewelry soon after draining the human. If you are not a gloved vampire, or do not have access to a particular instrument that can remove the jewelry without causing you or the human any unnecessary injury, please refrain from attacking that particular human.

Any jewelry that is found is of obvious no use to a vampire, but please resist the urge to throw it in the nearest gutter or trash can. McPotions is eagerly accepting this discarded jewelry and is paying 15 coins per ounce of jewelry they receive. They are planning to melt the jewelry down, thereby eradicating any symbolic means that may prove harmful to the vampire community. They plan to recycle the jewelry by recasting the molten metal into decorative and collectible Holy Water stoppers that will hopefully adorn some of their Holy Water vials by late summer. For more information, contact McPotions.

Run for the Hills

That's right, you have heard correctly. Pandemona is back. She had last been seen driving off in a daze, with no real indication as to what wheels were turning in her head. Well, it's all known now. She's a little pyromaniac and she's burned down RavenBlack's house. (Talk about an enterance.) So basically, we all have to keep our loved ones safe, cause I think she is the only vamp in the city with that short a fuse.

Note About Companion Vampires

submitted by, Cerridwen Qu'ellar d'Vlos

It has come to my attention that some Vampiress around this town don’t know what it means to be someone's companion. Some of them even have companions of their own, and yet they pursue someone else's companion. Now I have gone through hell and back literally to be where I am today with Shadow, and I will not tolerate this kind of behavior.

warn you all now, I will not rest, and will fulfill my days hunting down and killing anyone that tries to undermine my bond with him.

There will be no further warnings....

Editor's Note: There are many of us that feel very strongly for our companions. We would do almost anything for them. It brings us pain when things such as this happen. I am asking everyone to show some respect for each other, and back off our companions (that goes for our companions backing off the flirting too). End Note.
