Bradley Joseph Halliday

This here was the love of my life! Now we are good friends, and hopefully we alwasys will be. Bradley Joseph Halliday was born March 8th 1985. We are only 9 days apart, a wonderful number if a do say so myself! As Brad likes to joke: I like older men, hehehe. Or at least I use to...His favourite colour is red and he can never decide if he prefers the number '2' or '16'. Men, they can never make up their minds...hehehe. He is also a huge fan of the Detroit Red Wings...not everyone's perfect...hehehe. I guess I can live with this downfall...

Brad and I will be celebrating our 4th year of our friendship this up coming October of 2004! 4 years and I'm still talking to him! Geez, what am I thinking, hehehe. I actually have to admit that it doesn't seem like it has been that long, how time flies when you are having fun! We will be celebrating how long we have known and loved each other, now it will be a different kind of 'love' for each other.

This is how we met...
Brad asked me out at Highland Secondary School's Hallowe'en Dance on October 17th of 2000. I was the new kid in school, having just moved to the Comox Valley from St-Eugène, Ontario in the summer. I was living on base with my mother, so people automatically presumed I was an army brat. Ugh. I hate being an 'army brat', especially when I'm not!

Anywho, back to the dance.

This night, being very shy, I hung out with my current friend at the time. She (Julie Maier) introduced me to her friends, they were all very nice. Brad was the first...and only guy that night to ask me to dance, he asked me to dance at every slow song, minus one and a half. He danced with Julie for one and Ashley Carpenter for half of one...I'll get to that part afterward. Anyways, not knowing his name, I asked Julie to introduce me to all of the 3 guys we were dancing around with in the circle...this was to keep my interest in Brad a secret. Pretty good cover-up if you ask me...Later that night during the second to last slow song - there's always two slow songs at the end of every dance - Brad had been dancing with Ashley, when she came running over to where I was sitting and told me that "You have to dance with Brad, you have to dance with Brad!" Not knowing what was going and being too naive to figure it out, I obeyed. To make a long story short, he asked me out. Then (my first kiss by the way) he stuck his tongue in my mouth and kissed me, of course I had know idea what I was suppose to do. Geez, first impressions, hehehe.

I found out later that he had wanted to ask me to the dance but thought I would say "no", so - thinking as a guy - he assumed that if I said "yes" to dancing, I would say "yes" to dating...hehehe, he's lucky it did work that way...hehehe, men.

Anyways, Brad and I have had an off and on relationship for the better part of the year, and we are now staying friends. Here's to our friendship: May it last.
