What's Up With Clinton-Bashing?

One thing I've noticed among many of today's Bushophiles is that they like to bash Clinton. I honestly don't understand this tendency, as it really doesn't make much of a difference to the situation what we think of a President who is no longer in office. And yet, all I hear is, "Dodging guilt while the international situation fell apart," "Diverted attention from the real problems," etc. Why is that?

Let me tell you, Clinton never asked to be impeached. It was never his plan to have his personal life made front-page material for weeks on end. So if there is blame to be laid, my friends, it sits squarely on us. We could have paid attention to the real issues at stake, but instead we wanted to know who was sleeping with whom in the White House.

And now, let me remind the nation of something: during Clinton's administration, the deficit shrank. In fact, if it weren't for the interest on it, it would have disappeared altogether. Now we've got Bush II, and surprise, the deficit is growing again. Now, national debt, if you don't already know, is a very, very bad thing. Compare Clinton and Bush; who's better in that respect?

But this is my favorite argument against Clinton-bashers. You see, he's not in office. He hasn't been in office for three years. So he won in 1992. So he won again in 1996. Get over it. It's done. I swear, you people sometimes sound like whiny children.
